I thought it was a pretty good episode. The musical numbers were pretty sketchy, I liked the idea of it not being Augustus, since he was in the hospital from his heorin complications. The Beecher/Shillinger musical number was hysterical.
The one thing that really dumbfounded me was the LSD overdose storyline. I had always heard it was impossible to overdose from acid, that one would just trip and trip and trip. Kind of suprises me that the writers would use such an untrue ploy. Anyone else think so?

If I'm not mistaken, liquid LSD (which they put in the food), is a lot more potent than the blotters.
Plus the guy didn't die, he was braindead. That would make sense.

I thought it was a solid episode, but I wasn't sold on the musical numbers. Although I did enjoy the Beecher / Shillinger piece also. But I'll be happy when Augustus is back.

there's no point in him not narrating because he is in the hospital - its not like its his character that's really narrating anyway - its like an abstraction of his character. I liked the musical stuff - though I could have done without the dancing in the Beecher/schillinger number.

If I remember correctly, the actor playing Augustus was busy filming a cameo in some recent movie. That sparked the idea to do something different in the between-scene commentary.
Personally I was shocked that the songs were so well performed. And if it wasn't the actors literally singing, then that was some of the best lip-synch work I've seen done in quite some time.
Brittany and Michael should take lessons.

The moral of this episode: Take care of your gums! gahh!!
Not a bad episode. I enjoyed the Beecher/ Schillinger number as well as Augustus's unce (or whoever he is, I can't remember his name) singing about Vietnam.
Have they explained what happened to Rev. Cloutier yet? I'm not sure if I missed it or not.

I think next week is going to be interesting. According to the preview,
Spoiler:
oh, the irony.

Cloutier was/is Luke Perry's character that disappeared from his hospital room despite massive 3rd degree burns. This is 2 weeks now that they haven't said anything about him.
Good episode, though. I thought the singing mostly worked.

I think Kirk got someone to kidnap Cloutier and kill him one and for all. I think they'll find his body by the end of the season. Next weeks episode does look awesome. It looks like there might possibly be another riot? If i remember I saw 2 prisoners attacking guards in the preview. One was that asian guy.

I'm trying to forget that whole Clouthier mystical x-files type episode run.

Next weeks episode looks interesting...
And what ever happened to the inmate Sheriff guy that caused the female officers accident? Did he get transfered somewhere else?
Great season so far!
