Old Nickelodeon shows...

I used to love nickelodeon as a kid (80's)...it seemed that most of the day was taken up by a show called "Pinwheel" (Pinwheel, pinwheel spinning around...)

Pinwheel is the series that had picture page, curious george, today's special and simon and the land of chalk drawings...

I was wondering if anyone else had any memories of Pinwheel or other early Nickelodeon shows (Double Dare etc...)

"I don't know" ... (runs and hides)

I miss the good ol' days of Hey Dude and You Can't Do That on Television.

Who remembers "How To Be Swell" PSAs?

Or ... "It's My Three Sons ... they're my three sons ... it's My Three Sons on Nick-at-Nite. They've got a dad ... his name is Steve ... and then there's Bub ... it's My Three Sons!"

I don't remember Pinwheel but I do remember Today's Special. Is not that the one with the maniquin who if you put that hat on him he would come alive but he would always end up tripping or something and would turn back into a maniquin?

I remember Pinwheel, I think I watched it a lot but I don't remember it being one of my favorites.
I loved You Can't Do That on Television, Belle and Sebastian, and Mysterious Cities of Gold.

I'm glad someone else remembers these toons. I mentioned the Mysterious Cities of Gold one time to my friends and they thought I was making it up.

Don't forget about Spartacus! But, that one was a little weird.

I remember You Can't Do That On Television with Moose, Lisa Ruddy, Kevin Kubachevski, Ross, etc.. and Danger Mouse, The Third Eye, Out Of Control with Dave Coullier.

I remember "Under the Mountain" from The Third Eye with big sluggy aliens.

Wow - I thought I was the only one that remembered Today's Special. I used to watch that everyday when I was a kid. Wasn't the mannequin's name Jeffrey, or something like that?

I remember Picture Page but it wasn't on Nickelodeon, it was on in the early morning at a local TV station...but that was a very long time ago.

And who didn't love You Can't Do that On Television and who didn't know for a fact that they could kill on Double Dare.

I have found a few other people who remember the show but there are plenty of people who look at me like I'm crazy. I told one of my friends about it a few years ago and she said she'd never heard of it, but then I downloaded the opening to it and played it for her, it turns out that she had seen it and enjoyed it.

I remember They re-used music from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in it or vice versa.

I liked the "Finders Keepers" gameshow where they had to find hidden items in a house that was built on the stage.

I didn't like the game show where they just played video games. I can't remember what it was called, but what is more boring than watching people play video games on TV. I think the host also sung along whatever he was saying after they played these games to the tune of the video game music. That was annoying.

Come on, where are all the geeks here? My all time Nickolodean favorite as a kid: The Tomorrow People! Just loved it. Another show practically no one has heard of.

My fave Nickolodeon show as a child was 'Pinwheel'.. I remember watching it just before going to school. The memories, the memories! Wasn't 'Picture Page' on PBS? I think I watched that a few times as well. I remember 'Today's Special' as well, I think.. Wasn't that the one where they were in a shop and it had a little mouse or something? When I advanced in my years, I spent a lot of time watching all the reruns of 'Hey Dude' and 'Clarissa Explains It All'. 'Pete and Pete' was good too. Its weird seeing the older Pete in commercials nowadays, though.

I loved the old shows in Nick.

You Can't do that on Television was my favorite.
I still can't beleive that was Alanis Morissette...

Also good was

Clarissa Explains it all.
Dangermouse
Count Duckula
Pete & Pete
Ren & Stimpy
Double Dares
Out of Control
Mr. Wizards World
Hey Dude

Its nice to see some of the people that were on those shows in new shows and movies.

Well... not the cartoons, obviously

The one guy from Hey Dude is on Sebrina the Teenage Witch.. and he looks pretty much the same.

Isn't the older Pete in that new movie Slackers?

Clarissa was a good show.

I always hated Alex Mack, because I felt like they never had her using her superpowers that much. I've always thought that telekenesis would be the coolest superpower ever, and she never used it. It was depressing.

Finally, although I haven't seen it in several years, so it might be the younger person in me talking, but I think The Adventures of Pete and Pete was one of the most brilliant shows of all time. I really miss that.

I always thought "Moose" was hot.
