Roswell--Tabasco sauce may not save it this time...
From Gist:
Is the End Near for Roswell?
Roswell fans had better stock up on the Tabasco sauce again. For the third time since its 1999 debut, UPN's teen-alien drama is teetering on the verge of cancellation, according to the New York Daily News.
Starting March 5, UPN will shelve the show for seven weeks to make room for two comedy series, As If and The Random Years. The network is also reportedly cutting back on its episode order for Roswell.
Roswell, which follows the lives of aliens disguised as cute teens in New Mexico, debuted in 1999 on WB. The show's ratings were so shaky at the end of season one that fans sent thousands of bottles of Tabasco sauce — the aliens' favorite condiment — to network execs to encourage them to pick up the show for another year. Devotees sent another shipment at the end of last season, but WB ditched the show and UPN picked it up.
Can a mass mailing of hot sauce save the series? It's going to be a tough fight. So far this season Roswell has drawn an average of 2.94 million viewers, down from an average of 4.05 million last season.

It hasn't been on for a few weeks, so I figured it was already cancelled. Looks like it will eventually happen though...
I'm not surprised though...this season has taken a turn for the worse.

Actually I thought this season started well, I liked it better than the end of season 2. However the scheduling was quite hectic and that definitely didn't help.
Also, Smallville gathered easily more viewers at the same time slot. Roswell couldn't ride on the "Buffy" wave...
I guess it's over, although I would still watch it if it continues...

I still really like this show - there's just something magical between Max and Liz - gets me every time. I sincerely hope it gets renewed, or at least we find out "the end" - I hate it when shows just disappear with no closure.

This is one of my favorite shows, but I think there is little chance it will get renewed. I heard UPN changed some management around recently, which led to the doom of Roswell and Special Unit 2. The problem with Roswell was horrible choice of timeslot - its competing against popular shows on every other network at the same time.
