Glad she won. She deserved it.

Ninth commerical now. Two awards left and LORD OF THE RINGS HASN'T WON JACK YET!!!

Geofferson 01-20-02 09:36 PM

I was thinking of this earlier. I thought it would be a shoo-in for best song (Enya) or something...

Tough competition. Some years have a lot of really good films and one or two great ones. This year has seen quite a few great movies, all in completely different genres.

Yeah I wonder how Ford felt after Affleck got to use his occassion to promote their new movie. And yes Harrsion does come across as a bit of an uptight guy, but I guess he ain't the warmest person in the world. I really like Harrison Ford but if you look at his roles he ain' t got the most extreme range. He's always Harrison Ford. MaybeThe Mosquito Coast breaks that mold but not too many other roles

Yeah, it's as if she's a definite for the oscar. I'm sure the
other candidates hope that her string of wins stop short of sewing up the oscar.

She was brilliant in the movie.

Good to see Crowe win an award for an incredible performance instead of the average one he took statues for last year.

During the pre-show, Ben Affleck mentioned the fact that Harrison Ford called him to present the award.

Snake Plissken 01-20-02 09:48 PM

Last commerical now. One award left.

Russell Crowe actually deserves the best actor awards this year unlike last year.

Geofferson 01-20-02 09:50 PM

Ok, what will win Best Drama?

As one of the resident forum Russell Crowe fanatics, (Thrilled that he won by the way) That is his sometime girlfriend, long time friend Danielle Spencer. An Australian singer and actress that he has known since 1990. She also went with him to the Oscars last year.

Do you think that Brian Grazier spiked his hair just to make Ron Howard look even balder than he is?

I guess A Beautiful Mind is the film to beat for the Oscars....

Snake Plissken 01-20-02 09:56 PM

Ron Howard's head looks like his Golden Globe.

Snake Plissken 01-20-02 09:57 PM

So, The Lord of the Rings wasn't Lord of jacks**t tonight.
