MTV Cribs
Anybody watch this? It's kind of like a Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous for the Gen X and Gen Y crowd.
Some people have some dope cribs! Babyface....damn!
Tommy Lee has a pretty nice pleasure palace too! I think I recognized some of his interior decorating from the Pam/Tommy video.
Dream (the girl group)...their house sucks.
....but I guess it's all relative to what bigger star's homes are like.
I don't know why, but I really like watching this show (even if it's not a celebrity that I like). I don't purposely find out when the show is on so I can watch, but when I'm flipping through the digital cable channel guide and I see it, I'll watch it.
I think the new episodes start this Thursday...with Mariah Carey's Manhattan loft.

Here's a topic: why do rap stars' homes always look like my concept of "suburban tract-home nightmare?" Discuss.
Someone should tell these "rappas" that an interior design of nothing but solid beige is not "bling-bling."

Redman's crib was hysterical. I especially like the shoebox of cash above the fridge.
Who was the rapper that had the "strip club" stage and pole in his basement? That was great.

I think the guy with the pole was one of the members of Outkast, wasn't it?

Did you see Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s place? He had that whole bar/lounge/disco built in his basement.
I love this show! It cracks me up to watch it - young folks who suddenly have millions of dollars and for some reason they think that when you have money you are supposed to show it off as much as possible.
I would love to know how many of these artists-du jour will have any $$ left in about 10 years.

It's kinda funny I have been in loads of furniture stores in SF, and there is one in particular and I am telling you every one of the Rap Stars with the shiny homes, shopped in there, no doubt at all.
I see tables, couches, lamps, everything in there houses all from this one store. And the stuff is expensive, Sectional sofa's for about 10K. I think most of these new millionaire's think that money is where it's at.
I mean Fieldy from Limp Bizkit bought his daugher an antique music box for 3600 dollars, he showed the label, she may appreciate it later, but I doubt when she is 3 it is any good to her.
I do love the show however.
Redman's was good, he is totally ghetto.
Master P is out of control.... 3 million for the bedroom Yikes..

Redman's was crazy it totally fits his music style. I liked the guy from Outkast house too; seemed like place to hangout/party. Master P's was waaaaay too gwaudy and tacky. He spent 3 million on his bedroom but it still looked like shyt IMHO but if that what floats his boat...

I admit I watch it when it's on, too.
Twiggy's (from Marilyn Manson) house was hilarious espeically with his live in guru and blow up pool/spa.
Jayson Williams had an awesome house. And his tractors were cool, too.

The rappers know how to decorate. I would not mind staying there. The rockers OTOH don't. Some of them look like they live in the "Brady's" home.
All the male rappers have a bottle of gold wrapped champagne in their fridge. I couldn't make out the brand though.

And here is the store I mentioned earlier...
http://www.interior-resources.com/
This or it's equivalent in Atlanta is where all rappers must shop.
The one thing I noticed with a lot of the rappers, is that they do live in places like atlanta where I am sure 500K gets you a lot of a house.
I think it was Missy Elliot's house that had this particular piece..

I believe Master P's home is near New Orleans.

Although to be more accurate, Babyface is more R&B since he doesn't rap. But all the rappers and R&B artists I've seen know how to "live it up" as they say. For example, Ice "T" had the sliding roof for his pool.

Indeed Ice-t did have the roof, and I accept the R&B babyface..
I am looking forward now to russell simmons place.
I imagine it will be whack and there will be lots of bling bling.

I like bling bling. What was the rapper's term for living room? I've got to remember that one.
And I am interested in Mariah's crib. Although it probably can't top the mansion she lived in with Tommy Mottola.
