Is A&E going to do "The Lathe of Heaven"?

A friend told me he heard A&E is going to do their version of "The Lathe of Heaven" to be broadcast sometime in 2002. I can't confirm this. Anyone heard anything?

Yes, it's true. Here's an excerpt from the press release:

Lathe of Heaven, a two-hour movie for A&E, is based on the original novel The Lathe of Heaven by renowned science fiction author and National Book Award winner Ursula K. Le Guin. Lathe of Heaven takes place in the not-too-distant future and in the dreams of a mild-mannered fellow named George Orr (Lukas Haas - Mars Attacks), who has the ability to alter reality through his dreams. Instead of seeking a cure, George's psychiatrist, Dr. William Haber (James Caan - Misery), attempts to remake the world to match his personal vision of perfection, leading to bizarre and frightening results. Lathe of Heaven also stars Lisa Bonet (High Fidelity), David Strathairn (L.A. Confidential) and Sheila McCarthy (Haven). Lathe of Heaven is an ALLIANCE ATLANTIS and A&E Network presentation in association with Baumgarten-Merims Productions and will air in spring 2002 on A&E.
