Steven from Dell

Just when you think the commercials couldn't get worse, they have this no-talent assclown running around in a Santa's Elf suit. What the @#$# is Michael Dell thinking?

Isn't that guy 26 y/o?

The first few commercials were okay, but now, they've taken it a little too far. Like they really need a spokesperson for DELL.

Moo. Waitt may finally have a successful ad campaign. Dell, on the other hand ...

Taking into account all the commercials with stupid music that can get stuck in your head, misleading claims, jackass lawyers ("Have you ever injured yourself while picking your nose?"), spoilers for the next episode of Whatever ("It's an extra nipple. You're pregnant."), I think this dork is a refreshing alternative, Dude.

But that's just me.

On the other hand, I like the cow from Gateway better.

I prefered Martin, Patrick, and Leo's (from TechTV's Screen Savers) parody of the Dell commercial.

He's like 20. (There was a story about him in the Media section of the paper a few weeks back.)

I like his earlier work over the new Christmas ones. He doesn't even get to say his line anymore.."Dude, you're getting a Dell!"

Yeah, he's such a prima donna now. He's completely forgotten his roots ... all his supporters that made him so big.

I would like to see him try and sell a computer to the psychotic cowboy from Black Angus.

I must have missed this. Do you happen to have a video of it?

They have it on The Screen Savers' website.

I agree that is good. But, IMHO, while I like Martin, it seems he is starting to become a bit like the Dell's Steven. He is just starting to mug to the camera a bit much, to my liking.

Anyone else remember when it used to be Kate and Leo hosting that show?

Sure do. I liked it then and I like it now. Pat and Leo make a great team. Although I don't watch Extended Play, I think Kate's personallity is better suited for that rather than TSS.

LOL! I liked the first set of "Steven" Dell commercials - haven't seen the xmas ones. The Tech TV parody was hilarious! Thanks for the link. And Das - I liked your joke, too.

One last thought - I liked the show with Kate and Leo, and I like it now. I also think Kate is great on Extended Play, and agree that her personality is better suited to that show. OK, I really mean it this time, one last thought on the show - did anyone see the utility kilt episode? That was classic.

I agree that Martin is starting to act a little less on the cool side. I remember when he didn't play up to the camera so much.

I remember watching two years ago when it was Leo and Kate. It was sooooooooooo freakin much better than it is now, imo. Also, I remember when call for help was Leo and he'd check in with Erica Hill. I'd watch just for that. I can't stand the voice of Chris Parillo. A couple years ago I'd get lockergnome but it got really annoying.

There was an article about the ads in the austin paper today. From what is said Dell is cleaning house on the home PC market now # 2. Funny that two years ago they said they would not get in the the bargin side of computers. Oh well I think Dell is a sharp kid he is laughing all the way to the bank. The kid is not as annoying as Dan from Burker King.

Speaking of no-talent ass clowns, that guy on the iPod commercial takes the cake. He needs a nice lead pipe into the noggin.

Is his name Steven?

Anyway, the ads are doing their job. Dells probably were primarily recognized as business machines. In response to consumers, they changed the design of their computers to black from basic beige and made commercials to appeal to the young home consumer.

I wouldn't mind being that "dude."
