Hey, don't knock Gabriel.

He's actually a really normal well-adjusted guy that got immortalized at that awkward in-between stage in a film about Trek fandom. I've talked to him numerous times online and he's a very cool guy who just happens to love Star Trek.
We talking about the guy who kept trying to use big words but mispronounced all of them? The one who was upset over the First Contact uniform he had made?

Maybe he was caught in that inbetween phase, and although I don't doubt that he's "well-adjusted", he is probably lacking a few social skills.

Yep, I remember when we saw "Trekkies", making fun of that.

I figured, ok, here's a guy who reads a lot, but he obviously never interacts with people. So while he knows the words, he doesn't know how to say them.

(Still giggling over his pronunciation of "adamant" as Adam Ant.)

OK, the show is now officially bringing me down. Yet I still can't help watching.

I really dislike the fact that the contestants can merely tie the geeks in round 2, and that's good enough to take the points. They should either rename the show "Tie the Geeks" or rethink how easy they make it for the challengers.

This is my favorite game show of all time!!! - though that's not saying much

I like the concept and execution of the show. I like knowing most of the answers to the contestant questions and often being stumped by the geek level questions, and when I do know the answers to geek level questions then I really am pleased. Great show and fair website (provided they continue to add more content).

I was flipping through channels the other night and on the Gameshow network they were showing Greed. The TV Geek ("Paul") was a contestant.

I always watch it when I remember it is on. Very good game show. I usually beat the TV geek, and sometimes the music one.

I tape it every day but the last few weeks have all been re-runs. As soon as the Geeks make their little opening quips, we're like "Oh, we've seen this one." and delete it.

I wonder if they are ever going to show any new ones?

Yeah, that Star Trek is the biggest geek I've ever seen. I'm glad though. It made Trekkies much more enjoyable.

A new season is coming, and it will have a different host.

I like the current host. He is a rarity. A host who doesn't hog the spotlight or overplay his imporance. They'll probably get some stand-up comedian-style idiot who will annoy the hell out of me.

And for the record, he's not the guy who made the Captain Pike chair and drove it to Radio Shack. That guy is in a class all his own. He's the kid who shaved the head of his Captain Sisko figure and was tinkering with computer animation.

And yes, he did come off pissy about his costume, but at least he was smart enough to parlay his little bit of fame into something.

The person to whom you refer, Richard Kronleid, is a professional comedian and actor, who's no more a true obsessive Trekkie than he is a true fan of bowling. You can catch him in the role of Wally Hotvedt on Comedy Central's Let's Bowl.

As ctyner said, Comedy Central just announced they ordered another season of the show (65 episodes) with a new host and new interactive element. New episodes begin July 8.

Yeah, I liked him too. I just got sick of the same lines he used every episode.

"Sorry, I guess you just couldn't pull it out."

I wonder if he ever says that when smeone tells him they've impregnated a woman.
