a buffy question
for buffy to become the slayer, the old slayer had to have died. so who was that slayer and have they ever mentioned her?

Now that's a damn neat question. I don't think they've mentioned it in any episode yet. Nifty.

or....
Into every generation there is a born a Slayer....So whose to say she may be the last one...remember she was ignorant to her liniage, and had to be tested and so forth. Seems like every other slayer they introduced in this series (even the one's Spike killed) already knew what was ahead of them. I dunno just my opnion I could very well be wrong.

(spoiler below refers to an episode from season 5 if memory serves, and I don't think FX has gotten to this one yet)
Interesting question. I remember thinking that it must have differed from the movie in this respect, too, since in that movie the same soul kept getting reborn a slayer (with the same face). Both ways are interesting to me, so I'm happy either way.
Though I do think an episode that explores the most recent slayer before Buffy would be quite interesting (hopefully better than the episode on
).

I've read a number of the slayer books and they mention one previous slayer on a number of occasions but they don't say she was Buffys immediate predecessor. They haven't covered this topic in any of the tv shows.
