Selena in widescreen on TBS Was I seeing things?

A few nights ago TBS was airing the Jennifer Lopez movie "Selena"(spelling?) . I was in my parent's house at the time since my bedroom is in a another room seperate from the garage. After I left the main house, I went into my room and confim that this movie was being shown in widescreen. it was ! I know TV shows like Buffy,Angel, Enterprise etc and some TV ads are shown in widescreen. Is this the start of a new trend? How will people who do not understand or dislike widescreen when they show my TV shows and movies in this format?

So was I seeing things with this movie or not? Did anyone else catch any part of this movie on TBS a few nights ago?

i have seen it on broadcast and i seem to recall bits and pieces of it being shown in widescreen-mainly the concert scenes, then they revert back to p&s.

it should been the in widescreen the whole time! Fine for the concerts but the rest P&S!? No wonder people complain about those black bars if there not used to seeing all the time!

Yeah, it has little moments of widescreen because there are parts where there are two thin side frames when she is singing and stuff.
