I have most of these as poor VHS rips on VCD ... maybe it's time to upgrade. Thanks for the reminder.

I really thought the price wasn't bad either. And they did the 5.1 sound.

I was hoping it'd be a little closer in price to the Stargate set. Might have to wait for a few reviews and/or to see if it goes retail and gets discounted.

Although I do really enjoy the series so you never know.

Is that good or high for shipping?

Yea, I wouldn't mind a lower price either, but other sets have come in at a much higher price.

I guess with the extras and the 5.1 it is not that bad of a deal...I just wish they would put the seasons in regular stores instead of having to buy them directly from the company.

By the way if you have never ordered from them before then prepare to have broken english reps calling you and badgering you to get more seasons...they don't take the hint.

This was a no-brainer purchase for me. The $130 price was higher than I would have liked but I could live with it for one of my favorite series. But the $13 just sticks in my craw. It's not so much the total $143 price but be charged $13 for a two or three dollar shipment is just really irritating. I'll have to think about it but I'll probably end up getting it. After all the dvd's I've bought that I ended up not keeping I can't justify not getting this that I'll watch numerous times.

Hmmmmmmmm... wonder if I could give my bf a subtle hint about eventually getting me this series? I loved watching it when it was aired at night during an overnight shift I once worked. Literally the highlight of the night.

An off-hand question: Are the episodes still run on any of the cable channels? I don't get FX so that won't help... How about SciFi?

Thanks!

They were on Sci-Fi, but I'm not sure if they still are.

By the way if you have never ordered from them before

Couple of notes about ordering from the Highlander Catalog.
Make sure you read their shipping terms.
They can take up to 4-6 weeks to get your items to you.
If you want to know more about some of the adventures
ordering from them. Just read the highlander newsgroup
over on google.com. Just type in Highlander Catalog.
Its kind of sad that they have had so many problems
over the years.

I am going to wait until the set becomes available elsewhere.

$130.. I'm waiting until other places carry it. I'll probably end up ordering it from Total Action Universe if they stock it.

If I remember correctly when the video set was 1st released.
It was only available from the Catalog. Less than a year or so,
it started showing up at suncoast & bestbuy.
The price was about the same as the catalog though.
Maybe online it could be cheaper. Time will tell.

If you are a fan of the series. You might want to at least
request a catalog. Its a fun read if nothing else.

Hey all. I strongly encourage anyone sitting on the fence on this purchase to give in and buy. Apparently, initial sales of Season 1 will determine whether or not they go ahead with future seasons on our favorite format.

It seems like they've put together a pretty sweet package for this release anyway. Much better than I was expecting, and cheaper than the VHS seasons at one point as well.

Thanks!

I am bumping this thread up as warning about the
highlander store. A couple of people were considering
ordering from them last month. In an above posting
I warned against ordering from them. Anyways...

Many people who pre-ordered this set back in early December
still have not recieved there 1st season set.
According to the official site there was a unexpected delay
or whatever BS they could come up with.
(they are notorious for giving false information)
The site now says they are shipping the set 7 weeks later?
I can not confirm that it is even shipping now.
But I have spoken with a couple of people who did order
this set and have not recieved their set as of this last weekend.

Curious if anyone has gotten their set yet?

Anchor Bay is now releasing this.
Retail price of $89.98. Its on preorder at Buy.com for $58.
Probably a few other sites eventually.

Scheduled Release date is 11/5/02.
Suppose to the same content as the highlander site?
But with better packaging. We shall C.

But the price is ALOT better.
