Family Guy Tonight

There's always someone who posts in the morning after thread that they missed Family Guy. So here's your reminder. Try to get the buzz out about Family Guy. The rating weren't that great last week and FG fans need to get more people hooked on it if you want to see it renewed for next season.

Here's tonight's episode: 8pm EST

To Live and Die in Dixie

When Chris sees a convenience store hold up and identifies the thief in a police line-up, the Griffins are put into the witness protection program and must relocate to a small town in the deep south. While they are there, the townspeople put on a Civil War re-enactment and re-invent history by having the South win -- with laser swords. But when Peter questions the historical truthfulness, the town turns on him and he must fight his own battle

Yeah ... like Mr. Mackey said on 'South Park' last night ...

Cartman: I no longer have the capacity for humor.
Mr. Mackey: Look on the bright side. You could get a job writing for 'Friends'

(Or something to that effect)

Watch this show. It was funny when it first premiered a couple years ago. It was funny when they cancelled it. It was funny when they brought it back. It was funny when it disappeared again. And it's still one of the funniest shows on television now that it's back yet again. Don't let this show die.

true. true.

smokedragon 11-16-01 01:09 AM

Yeah, I agree. I even have the wife watching it.

She was laughing as much as I was.

Funny, funny show.

Any southerners get offended from last nights show?

That was freakin' great!

Nope ... but I didn't find this episode to be as funny as most. I enjoyed it, and there were some great moments, but most of their shows are twice as funny as this one.

the raccoon was sweet
When it jumped out of her breasts, I almost died laughing. I though it was going to save the day at the end, but not.

The old man was funny as hell. Hope they have him back again.

Mankal 11-16-01 03:47 PM

wasn't this episode a copy of the "simpsons" when they went into the witness protection program also?

Ah, don't you mean "The Thompsons"?

;)

conscience 11-17-01 08:07 PM

The gay old man on the answering machine at the end had me dying of laughter.

And no, I did not get offended by this episode. I know that most southerners aren't like that...just stereotypes that are funny as hell.....

A lot of plot lines and jokes for this show are blatantly robbed from the Simpsons. I think Family Guy tends to make them funnier though.

krimmy 11-19-01 07:06 AM

I agree this show is very funny most of the time. Thank god Fox decided to make more episodes.

twikoff 11-19-01 11:00 PM

family guy is one of the funniest shows, but how do they expect to keep it on the air, when they put it up against friends?

come on, give the show a damn chance to make it

mmconhea 11-21-01 01:34 PM

No Family guy this week. Fox is playing the Wedding Singer. :thmbsdwn:

mmconhea 11-29-01 09:06 AM

I can never get enough Bill Gates jokes!

clemente 11-29-01 07:45 PM

Damn!!!!!!

I thought it wasn't on at all!!!!!!!

I was suffering through Inside Schwartz when the Family Guy was on.......

Eric F 11-29-01 07:46 PM

This episode is the most twisted and perverted so far.

That's a good thing. :)

I just don't see why this show isn't any more popular.

das Monkey 11-30-01 09:51 AM

As always, a great episode. People don't watch this show because it's good, and for some reason, people don't seem to like good shows.

True True. That would explain why people watch friends.

ChrisHicks 11-30-01 01:27 PM

This has been 1 of the best shows on Fox since the beginning. To bad they lost their 8:30 Sunday slot as the ratings have never been even close since. If this show lasts another season maybe Fox will put it back on Sundays where it belongs when they cancel X-Files this year. It would be the perfect night of tv:

7:00- screw this slot as no show is ever really seen here with football over-run
7:30- King Of The Hill
8:00- Malcolm In The Middle
8:30- The Simpsons
9:00- Futurama (this way we can actually see the eps.)
9:30- Family Guy

This way the show gets the RESPECT it deserves!!!!

tsigo 11-30-01 02:07 PM

Chris, that sounds like a perfect schedule to me.

jpcamb 11-30-01 02:26 PM

Wow, I cought the show for the first time in a Loooong time last night and it was so damn funny! I taped it so I could watch it with my wife tonight, man I can't elieve some of the stuff they had on!

So is this usually on at 8 on thursday? because I am never watching frineds again if it is....

That would be perfect. I miss Futurama all the time, cuz of football over-run.

You've noticed that too? Every single show I like goes down the drain. It started with Sledgehammer in 1986 and has gone on to include That's My Bush and TV funhouse.

Edited to add-"He's not violating your prized pooch, he's awkardly positioning himself--eh, now he's violating her."

And when Bill Gates shined his flashlight into the sky and the microsoft logo appeared.

Family Guy Tonight 8:00 EST FOX

Bush), Kevin Michael Richardson (Professor) and series creator Seth MacFarlane (Peter, Osias, Nate Griffin).

Mankal 12-07-01 09:59 AM

Does anyone know where I can get the VHS copy for all of laast year's episodes. I know amazon has them but its only for european video players

First off I'll say that I'm third generation Irish.

Second,
Spoiler:
when they went to the Irish museum, I laughed so hard I cried! That was the funniest bit since they portrayed the Lindbergh's flushing their baby down the toilet and killing Earhart to cover it up.

If this series doesn't come out on DVD, I'll start training racoons to kill FOX executives.

mllefoo 12-07-01 07:40 PM

You have to love a show that has at least three references to erect penises in every half hour of hilarity. :D

mmconhea 12-13-01 08:18 AM

It's on tonight, but it's a repeat. A good one though.

Family Guy
Fish Out of Water
A jobless Peter decides on a line of work fit for “a real New England man”: He becomes a fisherman. But there's something fishy about the bank that finances his boat. Meanwhile, Meg and Lois do some serious spring-break partying (Lois does, anyway) at Rhode Island's Narragansett Beach. Series creator Seth MacFarlane provides voices for Peter, Stewie and Brian Griffin, as well as Seamus, Daggermouth and Carson Daly.
