24 - Hour 2
Figured I'd start a new thread for each episode since that other thread's gonna get too long if we keep adding to it...
[***SPOILERS AHEAD***]
Well, this was a GREAT episode. The first one did a good job of setting everything up and letting you get to know the characters and the plot. This is the one that gets the action going, and starts to raise your curiosity as to who the bad guys are and what their motivation is.
I keep getting the distinct feeling that this is going to be a really really layered story. Even the bad guys plans didn't go according to plan when that girl refused to hand over the real key card.
Jack's discovery of the owner of the computer terminal at the end was another well done twist. I never suspected it. Everything kept pointing to that other guy on his team which made me NOT suspect him, but I never thought of Nina. BUT, they did end it there. Woo...I'm beginning to love this show - it keeps you guessing...

I don't believe it's Nina though. I think somebody probably just got her information and put it on the card. But I'm sure Jack will confront her and she will be pissed but eventually they will make up.

I actually guessed at Nina being the person on the card, but I also think that she's not really a traitor or anything like that. I'm thinking it's just some wacky misunderstanding. Those wacky computers.
Fire bad!

Are they going to explain what Jack discovered regarding the source of the disk that Mason gave him? They spent a good part of the first episode showing Jack obtain this info (the whole tranquilizer, blackmailing thing) but, unless I missed it, the show has yet to develop that point anymore.
Also, is the key card that Baylor gives to Walsh (just before Baylor gets shot) supposed to be the same card that was taken from the desert? or are we supposed to know for sure yet?

Can anyone explain the reason why the lady jumped out of the plane, buried the press pass, and then went to the same place as the girl who picked up the press pass? The guy was obviously in a hurry to get the pass since one of his first questions was, "When do I get my pass?" Why the extra person?
I can never remember Jack's boss' name, but he seems really stupid to me. When Jack arrived at that building where the boss was shot, Jack says, "Are they armed?" The boss says, "I couldn't tell." What do you mean he couldn't tell? He knows at least one of them is armed since he was shot and the other guy was killed. Not to mention the fact that I'm pretty sure that when he called Jack he told Jack that he was taking fire from some people, so why would Jack even ask this question?
Anyway, I don't think he's really dead; I think he is in on the whole thing and is setting Nina up. I think that when the people show up to collect the two dead bodies that his won't be there.

The only good thing is that I find Kim (Jack's daughter) to be a cute blonde hottie, and Mandy (Mia Kirshner) also to be a femme fatale hottie. I'm just wondering if I'll lose interest by the time day breaks in this show...

I think she appeared to like the photographer person and with the plastic surgery the bad guy looked like him, I assume it was the same actor.
So she decides to stay and trust them, and when the other girl her partner comes in she hands him a pic of the keycard. But gets greedy I think...

It's because there's no way to tell an interesting story that spans 24 hours without making up a bunch of contrived nonsense. They still have to come up with 22 hours of story. If the characters acted sensibly, most of that time would be filled with the bad guys sitting around waiting and smoking.

So, doesn't anyone had any sensible theories about the young punks that have kidnapped Kim and her ruffi-ed girl friend? What's their connection to the whole thing? Are they somehow connected with using Kim to get Jack to back off his investigation?
Sounds like one hell of a contingency plan.

Instead she asks to see the money first, counts it to make sure everything is legit, senses that it is not a trap, and then calls her firend to deliver the key. (This backfires when the friend demands more money.)
Also occurs to me: they could have created this diversion to buy enough time to copy the card, manipulate it, add a tracking device, etc.
Spoiler:
Anyhow, I wouldn't be surprised if there are much more confusing plot devices yet to come, all answered in subsequent episodes, to allow more headscratching cliff-hangers.
