why does nbc start the "previously on er" a minute or 2 before 10?
I don't think it's my clock, as every other show tonight has come on when my clock said it was the correct time

pretty good episode tonight. It looks like the whole Roger and Benton thing is starting to heat up. I thought a fistfight was going to break out in the parking lot (personally I think Roger has a right to see Reese).
What was up with the guy who tried to circumcise himself?
The previews cheated, they made it look like Carter and Susan were starting something tonight, they showed the same scenes for next weeks show as they did for this weeks.

I thought the whole storyline with the meningitis was pretty unrealistic. Two medical people (granted, one was still in training) diagnosed that girl as just having the flu. I can't believe any medical person -- experienced or inexperienced -- would hear "college student" and "flu-like symptoms" in the same sentence and not consider meningitis. When I was in college, there was at least one meningitis outbreak (ranging from one person to tens of people) on campus every year. Even after they heard "stiff neck", it still seemed to take them a minute to figure it out.

I thought this was a pretty good episode tonight also . I can't believe Carter kinda brushed off Abby ! And I am sure Roger and Benton will have there battle in court or in the street before the season is over . I would have slugged Roger in the Face when he told Benton he was Reese's father . And I don't think I am gonna like the Carter Susan thing for some reason I just don't like here . I would rather see Carter and Abby together .

Yeah that was cold what Carter did. Didn't see that coming. I still think they'll hook up though. I mean, just think about the whole Doug/Carol thing.

I'm so bummed about what Carter said to Abby, but I think Carter was right (at this moment in time) about Abby not being over Luka (and having the chick working in the ER brings out that cattiness of former lovers). I still want Carter and Abby to wind up together, but it might be a circuitous route that the writer use to keep the viewers interested.
I did find it amazing how fast Sherry Stringfield settled back into being the compassionate Dr. Lewis. I always thought she was too calm, but it's an asset in an ER.
Did anyone miss Weaver?
Does anyone know if the Corday character is being written out as well? They are really putting her through the wringer with the mounting cases of dead patients that she's left in her wake.

There have also been a couple of times this season (first episode or two) where Friends has run for 31 or 32 minutes. Starts precisely at 8PM, but 31 minutes later the credits are still running.
Additionally, the Ally McBeal premiere last Monday started at 8:59, so Fox is getting in on the action too. So far ABC doesn't seem to be doing this (and I don't watch anything on CBS, so I can't comment).
I think this is a new thing that some of the networks are doing to "grab" viewers before they have a chance to surf. If you start E/R a few minutes before 10, maybe people will stick with it. If you run Friends a few minutes into 8:30, maybe people will watch the next show. Really annoying for people with ReplayTV or Tivo, though.
I know I didn't have these issues last season.
