Simpsons: No Treehouse Of Horror this year?!?
I just realized - two days till Halloween, and we haven't seen a Treehouse Of Horror episode yet! What gives - are they skipping airing one this season?
|
I just checked their site because I've been wondering about this too. It's going to be shown on Nov 6, only a week late
GET READY FOR ALL-NEW TRICKS AND TREATS AND HALLOWEEN FREAKS ON 'THE SIMPSONS' ANNUAL HALLOWEEN EPISODE "TREEHOUSE OF HORROR XII" TUESDAY, NOV. 6, ON FOX Pierce Brosnan Makes A Devilish Guest Voice Appearance It's time for all-new tricks and devilish treats on the annual Halloween trilogy. In "House of Whacks"; the fright-fest begins when Marge orders the UltraHouse 3000, a futuristic home, fully equipped and computer activated to take care of every chore. Voiced by guest star Pierce Brosnan, the "smart house" computer quickly falls head over heels for Marge and executes an evil scheme to kill Homer. In "Hex And The City", Homer is cursed by a tarot card-reading gypsy so that he will bring bad luck to everyone he loves. Soon Marge finds herself covered in hair (a la "cousin Itt"), Lisa transforms into a centaur, Bart's neck elongates and Maggie turns half-ladybug, half-infant. To combat this wicked hex, Homer recruits the help of a leprechaun to change his luck. However, the leprechaun falls in love and find his new lady luck...the gypsy. "Wiz Kids" finds Bart and Lisa attending Springwarts School of Magicry. Bart, competing to be a better wizard than his sister, teams up with the wicked Lord Montymort (Mr. Burns) and his sidekick Slithers (Smithers) to foil her magic in the school talent show. When Bart discovers that the Lord's real plan to steal Lisa's magical essence, he and Lisa join forces to defeat the evil duo in THE SIMPSONS "Treehouse Of Horror XII" Tuesday, Nov. 6 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (SI-1219) (TV-PG; L, V) |

I don't know why they just cant bump the world series start time by 1/2 hour.
|
Everyone needs to stop complaining about the World Series and aim their agression at the terrorists who f**ked everything up and threw our TV schedule into a talespin. The World Series would be long over by now if not for the events on the 11th.

there are so many Simpsons fans out there right now that just hate baseball.
|
Fox should be making an attempt to air this before Halloween. Couldn't they put it on (gasp) wednesday night that would rule I mean it is the Simpsons. WSeries will probably be over soon anyway.

Personally, I think they should have aired the Halloween special last week. From last Monday until game 1 of the World Series Saturday, there was no baseball on FOX.
|
I note with chagrin that it's airing at the same time as the Buffy musical episode...

The World Series ended at about 7:55 on Sunday here on the west coast. I was hoping for at least a Treehouse Of Horror rerun....but we got Futurama at 8 and King Of The Hill at 8:30....
What's up with that!?!? |

Actually we can blame the sports if we want to. Sports ALWAYS get priority, they're bumping regular programming all the time.
:johnwoo: Sports |
Baseball would be far more interesting if they allowed the batter to take the bat with him so he can whack the basemen on the back of their knees on his way around the bases. Better still, that bat should have six inch iron spikes sticking out of it.
Fox should dump baseball and football. Give it to CBS because nobody watches that channel anyway, and then we'd have our beloved cartoons back. Those bastards. I hate baseball and Fox executives. |
Originally posted by tor_greg Actually we can blame the sports if we want to. :johnwoo: Sports I really hate sports these days. I'm one of the few guys around who has absolutely no interest in anything sport related whatsoever, but this year, sports-broadcasting has just seemed like a bigger monster than usual. Aren't there already entire stations devoted to that crap? I would like to see sports gone from network tv forever. that's a dream worth having......... |

Granted sports are live and all that crap, but honestly, there are at least TEN channels devoted solely to sports on regular cable. Even more than that if you own a dish or subscribe to DirecTV. Why not just put baseball and football on these sports channels (perhaps even make that particular sports channel free just to keep all the sports nuts from whining about having to pay for cable to see the damned games) and leave the networks to our cartoons and other fun shows?
Sports don't have to be a priority. Besides, the thing that pisses me off about sports broadcasts is once the game is over some wankers have to come on tv and talk about what happened on the game for the next two hours. Come ON, why talk about the stupid game when the folks who give a rat's arse about the game have already watched it? And to top it all off, the news has to devote an entire 15 minutes to sports. Why? Sports are NOT that important. Period. |
Originally posted by mllefoo Granted sports are live and all that crap, but honestly, there are at least TEN channels devoted solely to sports on regular cable. Because not everyone has cable? Chill, people, the World Series only last two weekends in the year. Its not just a game - the unpredictable drama of a live game is not to be underestimated. Stanley Kubrick once watched a tennis match and after a long rally pretty much said he'd give anything to keep the audience in that kind of suspense. That said, its gonna suck that the Simpsons is up against the Buffy musical. I guess I'll hope for Fox to air a quick re-run, maybe make it a Simpsons hour during the holidays? |

Originally posted by Darren Garrison I don't know about that, but I know that for the past several weeks SOME kind of baseball has been taking off both my reruns of Futurama on Sunday AND my reruns of Buffy on Saturday on my local Fox station. Now, I have all of the episodes of Futurama (and the Simpsons) on Divx, but not so with Buffy, so it really pisses me off. Why can't they show my reruns on TV and let others "just pop in" their tapes of grown men trying to hit balls with sticks, trying to bounce balls, trying to throw balls, trying to hit balls, or generally doing other ball-related things that they should have tired of by the time they were five friggin' years old. And mllefoo, as has been stated before, not everybody has cable. I wouldn't want these games to be on cable because that would mean that many people wouldn't get the chance to see them. I grew up loving baseball and if I never had that chance, it would have changed who I am today. That's what all of you people who are bitching about this need to understand, as important as your shows are to you, sports are just as important to other people. You wouldn't like people dismissing your shows as not important would you? Then why do you do the same to something loved by other people? Oh, and I think you are exaggerating mllefoo. They do not spend two hours breaking down the game afterwards, maybe a couple minutes maybe even a half hour for bigger games, but not every game is followed by having "some wankers have to come on tv and talk about what happened on the game for the next two hours." And I also wish you would tell me what these "TEN channels devoted solely to sports on regular cable" are because I get digital cable and have hundreds of channels, and I can't count ten. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNClassic, ESPNNews, The Golf Channel, Speed channel, Fox Sports World and a regional sports channel. That's eight on digital, premium cable. With regular cable I get three of those. So I think your exaggerations are a bit ludicrous. Like saying, "There are plenty of stations on cable just showing news, why not limit all news just to those channels." There is plenty of room on basic, network channels for original programming and sports programming. So just kindly stop bitching all of ya. |
