Though that would be REALLY harsh punishment for that behavior. And as to not telling people if they're lead or not - I suppose it's a no win situation. On one hand, if you tell people, it clears the air and allows everyone to cope and move on. On the other hand, it creates a division when the group hasn't had a chance to gel yet. Personally I would have waited, but then I've never had to put an album together in just a few months. By waiting you allow the group dynamics to coalesce first, then you can introduce an element like lead singers without making it so much about us vs. them. One last thought about next week Spoiler:

OK - just watched tonight's episode. :)

Wow, I can't believe I was right! Actually, I kind of figured that after the episode where Jaymes was telling them that they had to cut off contact with the outside world.
Yeah, that's cool that they put Donavan's song on the album. They worked really hard on that song with the lyrics, singing, choreography, etc...it's nice to see that it paid off. I really liked the last song they sung/recorded ("The One" or something like that I think). It sounded good. Well, I guess that's it with all the drama for the show. :( Scene 23 is kind of a cool name. It's also cool to know how/why the group came up with the name. Do you think there will be a Popstars 3 next year? http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer that there won't be anymore drama on the show. I actually hope there will be a popstars 3 next year. At first I thought it was a bad idea for this year's show, but then I watched the first episode and remembered how much fun my friend and I had last year with the auditions and narrowing down of the group - the only "reality" show either of us liked. So I got hooked again. :) I'm a pretty easy audience, so I figure if they want to show another one, I'll watch it. :D

I'd watch a Popstars 3, too. :o
We should audition next year. :o:D:p http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
The one who got kicked out, was he the cute guy? The one who before he was picked, was imitating someone else during the tryouts???

Wow, I really liked the song that they sung for the video...the video was pretty good, too!
I would definitely watch a Popstars 3 should they decide to do one. http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
Originally posted by WarriorPrincess Well, to me he was the cute guy :D but no, he wasn't the one imitating "someone else" (i.e. Justin Timberlake) and who injured his ankle during tryouts. The guy that got kicked off was the latino guy (Moi) - the break dancer "beat boy" guy with the attitude. The guy you refer to as the "cute guy" is still in the band, and his name is Josh. :) |
Originally posted by IdgIe49 Uhm, k, yeah... Moi was the cute one! I watched the show during Survivor? commercials. Josh isn't always cute. He's got his moments. That other guy, Donavan? is that his name, I think he has a terrible voice. When they were doing the individual shots for the video I believe he sang, and swung his arms around like an octopus, and pointed at himself and what not. I turned the channel quickly back to my show so I didn't have to hear him. http://www.ameritech.net/users/dvdtalk/rome.gif |
I liked this episode- but then I always like to see singing and dancing. :) I must say I was impressed at how the video turned out - looks pretty good - they even sold me on the little story within the video. :)
I agree about Josh having his moments - sometimes he's cute, sometimes not. I also agree that Donavan doesn't sound all that great - but can dance like a champ. Overall I think the most talented are Laurie and Monika. Looks, voice and good dancers. But can I just say that I really wish producers of music would stop putting in the weird electronic waver in people's voices? I hate that effect. You know the one I mean - it's very Cher. :D |
