Alias 10/14

well i thought that this was another good show. i was kinda ticked that they stopped it when they did, but i guess that just makes me want to watch it more next week. the catfight between the two girls was really cool.

however, maybe it's just me but i feel like i am missing some stuff even though i have seen all 3 episodes.

I noticed the fact that they stopped it where they did, very similar to last weeks ending, then picking up and finishing the story off early in the next episode.

A neat idea that not too many TV shows use (didn't Batman use this?). Certainly lures viewers back next week. Not a problem with me, I'd come back anyway.

yes, that's great for first-run airings, but business-wise, it's not so great because with the slow economy, major networks try to sell their top-rated 1 hour shows to cable counterparts to reap as much $$$ as they can, and since you can't miss an episode and continue, you will miss a major part of the plot.

however, if the show lasts 100 episodes/5 seasons, it will go into syndication, where it can have as many continual plot lines they wish. sucks for ABC.

I read too much Variety.

Yes, another fabulous show. This and Enterprise are the two best shows on the tube this season imho. Man, it flies by fast.

I loved the introduction of the villian operative. Love what they're doing with her reporter friend.

Not sure what I think about the ending where they make you wait a week. Guess I don't mind it, as long as I don't miss one!

If it's not obvious by now, I'm an insanely huge Star Trek fan, but Enterprise is about 3 pegs down from Alias and another 5 or 6 new shows this season. I'm enjoying it, but it certainly is not the second best show on TV by any stretch of the imagination. In time, it may become a great show, but it's barely begun to 'crawl' while other shows have been 'running' for years.

Sorry for the hijack ... Alias ... another great episode. I enjoyed the overlay of her discussion with her professor with her recent mission. I also liked how Anna was just one step ahead of her and took a completely different approach to stealing that box.

I'm glad they had Sydney initiate the kiss with Will. It was way too soon for her to be hopping into bed with him, and while he's been jonzin' for her his entire adult life, he knows better than to initiate the contact.

Along with 'Philly', this is standing out as the best new show so far.

Yes, the cliffhangers work. ABC picked the right actress for the part. She fits the college student as well as the karate-fighting double agent.

The plot can be hard to follow with all the names and secret agent lingo thrown at us at rapid-speed. Does anyone get everything that is going on?

I want to see again that 19 year old chick that has the hots for Will.

I thought it was funny that Sidney got her CIA buddy (the one who has the hots for her as well) a promotion. Heh. That 'senior' CIA dude assigned to Sidney was creepy.

Sometimes I think they should have called this show: "Run Sidney Run".

I've been calling it 'Run Le Femme Sydney Run' since day one.

Surprised no one's mentioned the AudioGalaxy remark. That was pretty funny. "Worst case, I'll encode it in a RadioHead mp3 and post it on AudioGalaxy."

Make no mistake about it, this show is pretty hip, and in tune with pop culture (has to be to make believable inferences and spy drops).

Anyone find it funny that Sidney sends messages to the CIA via dropping wadded up paper bags and throning it into a garbage can.

The liffhanger endings are sorta cheesy, at least for me. They don't need a hook to get me to tune in next week My guess at what's in the case?
Spoiler:
Pornography. Wouldn't that be a great defusion to such a tense situation

About that Run Lola Run thing, is it me, or not only does she do a lot of running in each episode, but it seems that she's running down the same exact corridors each time? I'm guessing building different-looking corridors is not exactly a priority, but changing the lighting scheme doesn't make it look any different - the set re-use is still a bit obvious

I read somewhere that one of the people behind the show is a fan of "Run Lola Run" which explains the similarity in the music, the running, and probably the red wig that Sydney wore.

This episode was only 55 mins, incuding commercials and credits. I felt ripped off, especially considering the cliffhanger ending. Maybe they're making it up to the sponsors for the first episode or something.

Man, my family and I just watched the latest episode on "tape delay". Sundays at 9 p.m. are pretty packed w/ BoB, Alias, Ponderosa (yes, we watch it), and X-files when it starts back up...

Good thing we have four VCRs in the house...

Anyway, we love Alias. I had to talk my wife into watching the first episode, and now it's one of our weekly must-see-TV shows.
