I got sick of this show when it became "famous guest star of the week" in the past few seasons.

That's usually a sure sign that the show is going down the tubes

Only an ok episode.

Janet Jackson next week!

Kind of hard to be a funny episode when it was about the break-up of Grace's marriage. I thought Lopez was decent, she's really a pretty good actress. Sorry, actor. James Lipton would skin me alive.

Will & Grace - 9/23/04

Just finished watching this and was dissapointed. Janet Jackson was wasted (as are virtually all of these special guest stars).

Agreed. The writing was pretty far removed from her personality, and why did they choose to use songs from "Control?" She has an album full of newer material it wouldn't hurt to promote, but they go with a 20 year old track?

Nope, surprisingly, there wasn't. I thought for sure there would be.

So far, I'm not really loving this season. I'm still hoping it'll get better though.

Will Arnett was funny - and an unexpected guest star. The show really needs to "move on" from the whole Leo thing and start being funny again. One more episode is probably the limit for the amount of "unfunny". I'm hoping now that Jack's storyline from the end of last season is done that things can move on...

Will & Grace- Live season premiere!

Anyone going to be watching tomorrow night?

Anyone on the west coast with a DVD recorder? Apparently they're "performing" it twice and the east coast will get one version and the west will get another. Let me know!!

I'll be watching... and hoping they don't ruin this season like they ruined last season. It pisses me off to think how great this show once was, and what they've done to it. But I've still got my fingers crossed for tonight though!

I dislike this show tremendously, but I'll watch. I watch any live scripted TV, just because it's so rare.

Will & Grace Live Premier 9/29

So did anyone watch it? I'm surprised there's not a three-page-long thread, already.

I thought it was good. It was very easy to tell who is a trained, seasoned, live actor and who only does TV and movies.

I happened to catch Grace and Jack almost lose it when she kinda punched him in his chest in a playful manner.

Just more proof that this show is SO over. But having said that, I found myself laughing at this show for the first time in a long while.

Actually..they're ALL trained live actors. So I'd love to hear what your thoughts are.

Well, it wasn't as good as I'd hoped... but at least it wasn't as bad as I'd feared either. I did like parts of it, but overall, I was disappointed (again).

Oh, and after tonight's episode, I think Sean Hayes should be forced to give back his Emmy. Maybe he was better in the East Coast version... I hope so.

Did anyone lose it on the West Coast? Sean and Debra had the giggles at one point here.

They got the giggles here too, several times. Wish I could say the same.

Spoiler:
I don't know which storyline is worse: Grace contemplating an affair with a married man, or Stan faking his death. Actually, I guess it would be the Stan one; Grace's seems to have wrapped itself up, but Stan's has the potential to ruin several more episodes. Honestly, what were they thinking?

I also saw Messing get the giggles, so it must have happened once and they decided to make it part of the show for the second broadcast. I am sure that they were trying to to get Mullaly to break character with the painted eyebrow at one point, and she did a good job of keeping her composure, though she did give a sly glance.
The best part was Alec Baldwin smooching Eric McCormack, and from the way it went I think Baldwin put more into it than was anticipated.

Megan and Alec didn't break character once. Messing did it over and over, Sean Hayes tried very hard but with giggle-pants, it was obviously hard to keep a straight face.

No shit. But Debra went to one of the most presitigious grad-acting schools in the country and Sean has a history of theater productions. They all do. There is no one who is movie/TV trained.
If you know anything about the history of the show, every single taping is filled with flubs, bloopers and giggles from the cast. Unlike some other shows, this cast is extremely close and knows how to get to one another.

It has nothing to do with training or being unprofessional. This is consistantly how they are...without the use of editing.

I thought it was pretty good. Loved Alec Baldwin's character.

Yeah, Grace cracked up a lot, which is pretty standard for her, if you watch the outtakes and stuff from other seasons. I don't really consider it unprofessional. I can't imagine trying to do funny material with pretty funny people and trying not to ever laugh. Gotta be hard.

I've been to "Will & Grace" tapings and Debra Messing slows down the production so much. Missed lines, can't remember on-the-spot rewrites. She's horrible.

So what? I've seen plenty of live theatre, and many, many funny performances. The actors are all able to maintain their composure.
