Hell, I used to work in the south tower of the WTC and I don't think it should be banned. I just watched The Family Man with Nick Cage today and there were several shots of the towers. It made me sad to see them, but it would make me sadder still to have them removed from anything. Virtually any movie or TV show with a NYC setting shows the towers.

I would think (hope really) that this is a temporary measure. If not, then we should pretty much throw in the memory hole all films (and all entertainment for that matter) that contains people who are not currently alive or places that do not currently exist. Everything will become “WB”-like in nature, with no older people in them to insure longevity of the product.
If this does turn out to be pseudo Orwellian revisionism, I will forever miss the line “…and that’s when the CHUDs came at me.”

This has gone way beyond ridiculous.
I am quite sure that Arnold and anyone on this message board can understand a new movie that's COLLATERAL DAMAGE would be inappropriate to release so quickly.
But with these radio songs and now this.
It is really stupid.
I am almost positive they would not release that season on DVD without this episode.
Plus it would be several years before it came out anyway.

I wouldn't get to worked up about it yet, several years ago fox pulled a X-files episode from season 4 about a cannibal family(home) after it was aired, and they included it in the x-files season 4 dvd set.

It looks like "Homer vs. NYC" isn't the only episode being pulled from syndication.
From The Simpsons Sourcebook :
That was from an interview they recently conducted with writer Mike Reiss.

This should be only temporary thing...anything other than that would be silly, and an insult to the overall human condition of moving on after a period of grief. Saying that hte episode is unairable ever, implies that we will be forever haunted and scarred so much that this will emotionally wreck us to see the show, which overall is just not the case. It'll be meloncholy, yeah, but people are strong enough.

Yes, Fox, please let Terrorists win by making us forget there ever was a world trade center. Also, please have Best Buy and Blockbuster pull every Fox movie with the world trade center in it off their shelves. No one needs to ever remember the way NY used to be prior to this month.

Personally I thought that the episode with Nsync was pretty funny. I mean it's not like they were PROMOTING boy bands.
