The OFFICIAL "I HATE reality TV" thread.
ok so i was flipping channels last night trying to find something to watch before the sampras-agassi match and i come to 'lost', which i instantly hate because it is pushing back the start date of one of my favorites, 'ed'. then i flip to cbs and see BB2 on and am thinking, 'will this end before i am retired?' then at 8 right after the match has started, they both have 2 more reality shows on! for crying out loud when will all of this junk stop. at the beginning when it was just one or two it was kinda bearable, but now i would rather watch paint dry then watch or hear about another 'reality' series. so i ended up watching the epic sampras-agassi match....now THAT was reality TV!!

Yes they all suck. I can't sit through 5 minutes of them. It just isn't entertaining and I really don't see what people find entertaining about them. I could see the popularity of Survivor because it was new and different but these others are just awful. Hopefully soon people will jump off the reality show bandwagon.

Don't forget it's actually the most UNREALISTIC garbage on TV. And they say Trek fans need to get a life? Please! Still can't decide which is worse - Reality TV or the WWF.....

Must chime in here too. I hate reality TV. I swear when I see a commercial for some new stupid show, especially a Fox show, I almost laugh.
Does anyone think that theseshows are almost like parodies you would see on SNL? The premises are starting to get ridiculous.

I also hate them. the only one I've watched is Fear Factor and I really don't consider that a "reality" show. Maybe noone does, but I see it lumped in with all these other shows a lot.

Well, be careful what you say. "Reality TV" is probaby the most reality most people get. Probably can't live without it if you live in Never-Neverland.
I have never watched them (beside the local news) and never plan to. I guess I get too much reality during the day.....

i hate reality tv. why do people watch this crap? it only encourages talentless network executive idiots to ignore creatively interesting projects for the sake of 12 idiots bitching about each other.

Okay, I'll register my disgust of reality shows. They just...suck. The only one I'd watch is if they'd produce my idea, Survivor House, where the last person who survives a giant mansion full of deathtraps wins a shiny nickel.

I am also sick of reality TV. As has been said, I see reality all day, I can do without it invading the TV.
It seems like every show has to have some way to get voted off or something and it sucks.

All reality T.V. is crap. I don't understand how people can sit through that junk. Even Survivor...I tried watching the first episode last season, as I had missed the first season, I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes. I remember being more entertained watching the grass grow in my front yard.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I'm always vastly disappointed when one of my friends starts talking about a reality show, because I hoped they'd see the shows for the ridiculous swill that they are. Ah, well. Guess everyone can't agree. But I'm glad that I'm not the only one avoiding these shows - I hope the trend dies soon.

You know all those "not too distant future" stories about deadly gameshows with huge payoffs? I think some TV producers read them and said, "Great idea!"
