So to answer the question, nothing comes to mind. I mute the TV during commercials or change to channel and change it back when the break is over. Actually, for that matter, I only watch a few hours of TV a week because of its nasssty commercialism. Now even the SHOWS are commercials. So I mainly watch AMC, TCM, TLC, Discovery, etc.
Ok, game on

Well my main beef is probably people talking about it as if it were entertainment. It certainly isn't.
And I never said our capitalist system was all that great, either.

Alhtough I do find some commercials entertaining, I've never understood how companies find it worth the money to advertise. TV ads have never influenced my purchase decisions (not including perhaps movie trailers, or 50% off sale somewhere). Perhaps once I got a quote from a company (A/C installer?) that I wasn't aware of before the ad.

We all know about Nike, Old Navy, Gap, blah blah blah because of a commercial/advertising presence.
I think if someone said "Name a shoe brand" most people would default to a well know, commercial brand, regardless if that was their favorite.
And for the thread, I love the Mike's Hard Lemonade where the guy gets his hand cut off. When the bartender slides the drink down and he can't grab it and you hear it break.

Its a really dumb commercial, but I laugh everytime.
Its for one of those collect call companies, and has Terry Bradshaw and some country singer.
They are at a sports bar and are offered Buffalo Wings for "only a buck each"
Bradshaw blubbers something about that being too much and the singer drawls "How much for the whole Buffalo?"
I don't know why thats funny, but it cracks me up everytime

I like the commerical for Sears where the baby is crying and the dad comes running down the stairs and trips over the baby gate and the baby starts laughing.
But, my favorite commerical is the Nike Tag one! It cracks me up everytime I see it!

the as may have no bearing on the product but the more it sticks in your mind the better the comapnies' money was spent
The commercials that we are all recalling and I am sure there are some you can recall too are made for that reason maybe if in a store it comes down to 2 choices you may pick one just because it is in your head.
People tend to buy what is familiar.

The Southwest Airlines "It must be football season" commercials have had a pretty good run - the lastest one with the cocoanut to the head got a few laughs.
The Tobasco add for the Superbowl a couple years ago was silent but funny...

I like the baseball commercial with Harvey Keitel as who I can only assume is Winston Wolf. He's an observer on the diamond talking about stealing to the guy on first.
He looks towards the catcher and says, "And him...he's got a gun!"
Makes me laugh every time.

It's not my favorite current commercial by far, but the Gatorade commercial with Keith Jackson makes me wish he would come back and announce the Ohio State-Michigan game every year.

I was ready to say I have no favorite commercials, but then I remembered... mmmm, Claire Danes.
