The Tick - Live action: thoughts?
Entertainment Weekly - The Tick
Check out the link for a preview. Costume looks good although I don’t like the mask, or lack thereof. Don’t remember the actor too clearly from Seinfeld but he’d have to be amazing to top the guy who did the voice for the animated version.
Anyone see it when it aired as a mid-season replacement last year?
I love the animated show dearly and I just hope they haven’t compromised this all to hell.

i got a chance to watch the pilot episode
it was a fairly decent show.. but I cant see it lasting more then a few episodes, until a ton of tick fans come out of the closet.. but it wont appeal to the masses.

I think it will be good, but won't last too long. I think the actor playing the Tick is perfect, he's got the voice and the cheesey mannerisms down pat. He does voice overs for a lot of cartoons, he's actually Buzz Lightyear on the TV series.

Patrick Warburton - You may not recognize his face, but you might recognize the voice - he was Kronk in The Emporer's New Groove, and on Family Guy he plays Joe, the wheelchair-bound neighbor.
Interestingly enough, The Tick will be airing regularly on Thursday right after Family Guy.

I'm excited abotu the pilot.. it'll be interesting to see. The cartoon was very original but doomed cause it tried to be too many things at once. The show will work but they have to give it a time slot and stick with it. If they have the Tick/family Guy in an hour block i think the ratings would do quite well.
He played David Putty on Sienfeld which i thought was one of the best secondary characters "YOU STOLE MY JESUS FISH!"
He also did the voice of superman in the Jerry Sienfeld Visa commercial.

I just saw the live action pilot, and I have to say that it is actually pretty funny. They could not have made a better choice to play the Tick. Warburton is hilarious, and the costumes look good. They have this Captain Liberty character who I assume is supposed to be American Maid, but I don't know if she was a character in the cartoon because I don't remember. And yes I REALLY saw it, I have it on my computer. I'll say it again I LIKE this show. However I showed it to a female friend of mine and she said it was the stupidest show she ever saw. If you like the Tick cartoon, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the series, judging from the pilot.

The live action BS is just a disgrace to the cartoon. They need to cancell it as soon as possible. Why are they even bothering doing this in the first place? Why don't they just show new episodes of the cartoon? It's like this guy is trying to be funny by saying crazy stuff like the tick but it's never really right at all. Everything the cartoon tick said was hilarious:
"When evil is a foot, and you don't have any arms, you gotta use your head, and when evil is ahead, and you're behind, you gotta do the leg work, and but when you can't get a leg up, you gotta be hip, you gotta keep your chin up, and kick some ASS!"

I heard from a friend that the first three or so episodes are a bit off, but by the fourth or fifth it really starts getting good. Gotta give it a chance, especially fans of the cartoon who were disappointed. Keep watching, it should get better.

High-five!
I don't care for that term grease monkey. I don't know of any monkeys that can fix up cars.
That monkey's alright! High-five!

Fox is not giving this show much support. I missed the last episode maybe if they advertised it like they do TemptIsland people could catch it. Seems like Fox Execs are just waiting for it to disappear. Pilot Ep was good I liked Christopher Lloyds performance. Given a chance I could see it being as entertaining as the cartoon.
