Kubrick's Lifi In Pictures on UK TV.
To all those of you who have recently bought the Kubrick box set, with the 'exclusive' Life in Pictures documentary, just thought you may be interested to know that it is also being shown on UK TV channel BBC2 tonight, and also over the following 2 nights ( 40 mins per night - allowing for the difference in running time between DVD and TV broadcast speeds, it is probably the full 2 hour 15 min doc).
Was this supposed to be exclusive to the box set? I know I would be pretty cheesed off if I had bought the set to get this doc, only to see it on shortly afterwards.
What gives?

watched it. not a great fan of Kubrick and watching his debut directorial effort was worse than watching paint dry, but the docu did give me some appreciation of Kubrick's contribution to cinema and why he is so revered within the industry - except of course, by the Academy who refuse to reward anything new or controversial - COWARDS!!!

I for one, being a Kubrick fan, and having had bought the set, am not at all pissed they are showing it on t.v. I relish the fact that the documentary is now being made accessible to the mainstream audiences. Hey, dvd players have become very popular, but not every t.v. owner has one (Granted, most Kubrick fans probably do
). For me, it's far maore about the man's art and it being accessible, rather than having some exclusive "member's only" trinket. If this had been shown on t.v. in the first place, I would have still bought it anyway, as I hardly ever seem to be around whenever anything airs that I may have an interest in. Having the dvd, I have the luxury of watching it anytime.
Damn, that was kinda long winded. Anyway, that's my take on it.
