Kenwood - young man you are in sooooo much trouble. You get upstairs right now and get to your room! You'll be lucky if you get -- I mean don't get a spanking for this!
Very funny.

I love my ReplayTV unit. Best thing I've bought, even (dare I say it??) better than my DVD player.
Replay is still in business and I believe have already been bought by SonicBlue, which gives them deep pockets. Panasonic is currently making units based on their technology, and they just signed a contract allowing some cable box manufacturers to integrate thier technology into cable boxes.
There is no guarantee that either Replay or Tivo (who still is losing money and has yet to make a profit) will be around a few years from now. I wouldn't make a decision based on the future of either company, since both have reasons they will suceed and reasons they will fail. Make a decision based on which features you like better. Both are good products, and you'll probably be happy with either one.
(That being said, buy the Replay!!!!! I love it!!!).

ReplayTV is alive and kicking
I can't believe someone would say that ReplayTV is "out of business" and then call another person "uninformed and stupid".
Max, if you just checked out the other forums at the link you supplied, you'll see that ReplayTV is still around, they just don't make hardware anymore! Like Sega (now don't start), they're just focusing on software/technology.
As Kelric said, they were bought by Sonic Blue, who has big pockets. On TOP of that, they just came to a pretty big LONG-term agreement with Motorola to incorporate ReplayTV technology into set top boxes:

Now of course, others have said that you're usually more loyal to the FIRST HDR that you bought, and for me, that was a ReplayTV, but I have a TiVo as well. They both have their pros and cons, but I would take another ReplayTV ANY day over another TiVo.
