I caught my first episode today. I can't begin to explain how great the show was. The remaining bands, Flickerstick, Harlow and Soulcracker, are competing for equipment and a video to be played on VH1 at the end of the contest. These bands have to perform in the same city and the one who makes the most money via ticket sales and merchandise sales wins the contest. During the season a group gets kicked off if they don't make enough money.

This show, shot in Nashville, shows how the contest is competative and how these bands have to market themselves. Plus, there was a situation where a member from Flickerstick was hit on by a very inebriated women who was probably in her late 40's. That was very funny. She got tossed from a club for taking her shirt off and exposing her boobies!

Much like Survivor, VH1 promised to give $100 to any of the bands who wrote and performed a C&W song during any of their shows. Soulcrackers song was awesome.

If you haven't seen the show you really should. It shows how cutthroat these bands are and the distances they will go to make money.

Tonight's episode saw more of members of Harlow whining because they think Soulcracker is getting the better deal. But the best part was a girl named Jennifer who was very do-able! She was able to bring some 15 or more people to see Flickerstick. Afterwards, she went back to the hotel with the band (along w/a few other girls!) At least one of the guys scored in the bathroom as the cameras were rolling. Then afterwards that same girl who gave it up wanted to make out w/other members of the band. She wasn't that bad but wasn't that great (small boobs).
It really is a great show if anyone else is watching.

Yeah I've seen every episode and it really is good.
POWERBOMB,
You should try to catch the rest of the episodes if you can because tonight's was FAR from the best one!!!
The best was the "elimination" episode. Because Flickerstick was in LAST by hundreds of dollars and everyone assumed they would be leaving without a doubt.
And if by some chance they won the battle of the bands (which they did) Josh Dodes and SoulCracker thought Harlow would be leaving because they were in third at the time and trailed second by about $400. But then Flickerstick before the announcement of them winning thought they were kicked off so they just started buying their friend's (Harlow) merchandise to help them out. And they ended up beating Josh Dodes by about $50 to get second, then Flickerstick won the Battle so Josh Dodes got kicked off. It was GREAT.
Especially after Josh Dodes and SoulCracker "cheated" the week before with buying each other's merchandise.
Now I like Flickerstick the best.
however SoulCracker are the smartest as in business type "sell, sell, sell" attitude.
But obviously Flickerstick is the most interesting to watch.
I don't know how they can pull off being $1,200 behind.
And don't know if their is another "battle" to stay in it or not?!
It is interesting and I thought Flickerstick's "lets go to the bar and get drunk instead of promote and do the bonuses" attitude would get old and boring by now but it hasn't one bit!!!

This show does rule. My favorite band is Soulcracker by far. Although Flickerstick is pretty talented, but I think Soulcracker is the best and the most fun to watch. I completely hate Harlow. They are terrible. Anyone that knows anything about music knows their music is easy to play and not very good. The guitarists play bar chords the whole time to an easy drum beat. Last night's episode was great. I really dont see how Flickerstick could be behind Harlow in money though. I really hope that Flickerstick pulls ahead and Harlow gets eliminated so Soulcracker and Flickerstick can battle it out because they are IMO the best two bands. I can't wait till next weeks episodes which looks very good, arent they going to have battle of the bands again?

Well, we are down to the last 2 bands. Flickerstick or Soulcracker. If you caught last night's show "Episode 14 --Miami" then you know that Soulcracker is trying to win at all costs. Soulcracker are calling their competition "***** rock." And Flickerstick are getting attacked in the streets of Miami. They're $3000 behind Soulcracker, but the winner of the forthcoming battle of the bands will add $5000 to their totals. So the two groups adopt the strategy of brewing up as much bile for the other as possible.

Yeah it was a good episode.
I hope you get/got to see the older episodes you missed before you started watching POWERBOMB.
I hope Flickertick pulls it off just to piss off SoulCracker. The look on their faces (Soulcracker's) when they announced that the prize for the final battle was $5k their jaws just dropped, seeing as how all that stuffing cds down peoples throats by Bob and AP were WORTHLESS now!!!
Well it did keep them on the road this long by being first.
I think if Flickerstick loses they will beat the hell out of them!!! THey were ready (AND WILLING) to jump on Beastie at the hotel, that was too funny.

Being a muscician and having friends in struggling bands, I really like this show... What irked me about the last episode was Soulcracker thinking that they were a better band because they won the Guitar Center drummer and guitarist showdown. Anyone can be technically proficient and play Jazz chords and scales, or go bonkers on drums, but that doesnt mean you're a better band. Its pretty clear that Flickerstick are the better songwriters and tighter (Hell, they can even harmonize) players...The whole underhanded means by which Soulcracker is trying to bad mouth Flickerstick is just kind of proof that they realize they would lose mano y mano, like they have every battle, and thats sad. Soulcracker call Flickerstick "corporate rock" when all Soulcracker is trying to do is sell tons of cds and win the moolah, record deal, video on Vh1 by any underhanded means instead of leaving it up to the music.

I started watching the show after the first band was kicked off. Since then I have been hooked. I really like the show because I knew a few bands growing up and watching this competition really gives me an insight into what it may have been like for them trying to get a gig or contract.
I too am rooting for Flickerstick. I can appreciate some of the guys in Soulcracker, but their whole attitude stinks. I think that Flickerstick is a better rock n roll band who's future VH1 Behind the Music show will be as interesting as Motley Crue or Def Leppard.
By the way, it's interesting that stores like Best Buy and Warehouse Music and online companies like Amazon sell or list the Flickerstick cd, while none of these stores have Soulcracker or Harlow. Perhaps these business' already know the winner and are getting a jump on future sales. Even Virginmega.com has a little article about Flickerstick but nothing on Soulcracker.
It's going to be a great show on Sunday.

Any predictions as to who will win it all on Sunday?
I'd be very, very surprised if Soulcracker could pull it off, given the margins they have lost previous Battles by.

My prediction is FLICKERSTICK.
The first reason is that I just WANT them to win.
Second, their cd is on sale at many more places online like Amazon and SoulCracker's is NOT. Might not have anything to do with it but could.
Third, the previous battle of the bands, Flickerstick has just dominated (love how Soulcracker just blames it on bashing the guitars, and NOT because they are truely BETTER). Last battle Flickerstick had 3 times the amount of votes!
Yes, Soulcracker has been scheming for the final battle, but it would take a lot to pull it off. Also part of that is probably editing, not showing Flicker getting anyone to come, although they probably DON'T try at all. But some of the editing has to be for "twists and turns".
Finally, Flickerstick is on a MAJOR tour right now, well for them it's major taking them all across America. And it's timed perfectly with this show coming to an end. Don't see anything for the same for Soulcracker.
Flicker is actually playing where I live in Upstate NY next weekend.

I pray its Flickerstick. Although if you looked at my musical taste and all my friends in bands, there is a definte "alternative/indie" lean, I cant stand Soulcracker's attitude or music. They should lose big time just for the fact that any indie rock/ hard alternative band shouldnt be foaming at the mouth wanting to get airplay on Vh1. Thats just pathetic.

Well it's finally over and Flickerstick overcame all the odds of having the deck stacked against them by Soulcracker and an internal fist fight the night before the last "battle of the bands."
I think their music won the crowd over. They played with everything they had left thinking they were going to lose and they only destroyed their drum kit.
Soulcracker had all that arrogance shoved back into their face and that was great. They can't even imagine how they loss and that will be enough to rip that band apart. They conspired and cheated and still loss.
Great show.

Awesome final episode. (But I'm entertained anytime tiny Brandin from Flickerstick jumps in to stop fights between his bandmates.)
The guys from Soulcracker were gracious in their wrap-up interviews, but I was laughing during their "Flickerstick's gonna cry after they lose" tirade prior to the Battle, because the minute they said it, I knew they were going down.
Am I alone in thinking Beastie is the best ever "real-life" TV villain? (Politicians excluded.)

My brother said he saw an advertisement for the bands of the 2nd season to play at Newport Music Hall in Columbus, but hasn't heard anything in a while. The bands had the first elimination show in Columbus and they have all played there a few times after the show, so it would make sense to return. I loved this show and I hope we get another season, it was probably one of my 3 favorite shows when it was on.
