I think (and hope) that Wolf wins. I don't like Whitlow...she seems too conniving to me. I'm sure Wolf has done his fair share of trickery, too, but I just don't like Whitlow.

That obstacle thing and the 1.5 mile run were pretty messed up....I mean, it's obvious that Whitlow has gotten into better condition from when she started than Wolf...Wolf was already in good shape when he started. That bullcrap about seeing who can beat their first time by the most is bull. I wonder if they would have had the same format if there were two finalists of the same sex? I wonder if they did that just to keep the game sort of equal...anybody know?

Venusian 05-17-01 01:48 PM

CBS. They sued Fox saying this was a rip off of survivor. ANyone know the result?

Jeraden 05-17-01 02:05 PM

CBS's lawsuit is totally ridiculous and they don't have the slightest chance of winning.

I hope Wolf wins too. At first I didn't like him too much, but he's ok now. Whitlow I never much liked. Overall I think Wolf deserves it much more.

That obstacle course was total bs. Wolf actually tried and did well, being in the lead he kept pushing himself. Whitlow slacked off during the whole thing and it really seemed she gave up when she knew how far behind she was. So they then tell them they have to run it again and the person who improves most wins. What crap, did you see Wolfs face - a total "WTF???" look on his face. I can't help but think they did that just to give Whitlow a chance of winning some of the challenges.

That 1.5 mile run was pretty biased too. Wolf was in good shape when he entered and ran the first run pretty fast. The training improved him, but not as much since he was already in shape. Whitlow was out of shape when she started, so no doubt is going to have a lot more stamina now then when she started. Plus the fact that she ran the first one slow, of course she's going to have a faster time in seconds than her first. To be fair they should have at least done percentages and not times. 10% faster of 10 mins is 1 minute. 1 minute faster of 25 minutes is only 4% increase...(not the real time, but good for the analogy) Comparing apples and oranges, and again biased against the stronger candidate.

Wolf is getting screwed. It will be interesting to see how the other recruits vote though, most seemed to dislike Wolf a lot more, but it might come down to the survivor1 effect and they'll vote Wolf since overall he was the better recruit.

thejammy 05-17-01 02:16 PM

From what I heard, it was WOLF. I think he should win because he has worked the hardest from the 2 episodes that I saw.

I don't know but I suspect it is to give the weaker one a chance (otherwise, only the strongest, fastest men would win). Heck, Wolf even beats Whitlow on mind/memory stuff. If it weren't for trick contests, she wouldn't have a chance.

Yeah...that's pretty bogus. What's really gonna suck for Wolf is if the 6 recruits who vote like Whitlow better...a lot of them (especially the female recruits) probably think he's an arrogant SOB. Plus, he's a 22 year-old college kid so they might think he's just a snotty brat who's not worthy of winning half a million dollars.

big whoppa 05-17-01 07:01 PM

I don't care all that much but if I had to choose, I choose Whitlow. Wolf is too arrogant, SOB. Gee, Wolf beat Whitlow in the obstacle course. Pitting a guy versus a girl. Whitlow should have voted Wolf off. Whatever.

Bobubott 05-17-01 10:56 PM

I agree that the obstacle course was unfair to Wolf. I hope he wins, though. Whitlow (and a couple of the female recruits) just seemed really sneaky and untrustworthy. I'm hoping it ends up like Survivor 1... the way the other recruits have been talking, it sounds like they dislike both Wolf and Whitlow, but since Wolf was more open and honest about his sneaky tactics (like Rich from Survivor), he'll get their votes.

Yrth 05-18-01 12:22 PM

I'm curious. What have the ratings for the show been? Anyone know?

necros 05-18-01 01:49 PM

I'm pretty sure Wolf will win, but I hope he doesn't. He's just an egotistical jackass thats way too full of himself.

big whoppa 05-19-01 08:10 AM

Initially, the ratings were good. I don't know if they increased or decreased since. There doesn't seem to be much buzz about it.

Patman 05-19-01 09:42 PM

Well, if I had to go to war with either Wolf or Whitlow backing me up, I'd pick Wolf. I'd also pick him over Whitlow for the big prize was well. She hasn't shown me much when it comes to performance in boot camp missions and drills.

I'm the only one of my friends that has watched Boot Camp. :(

nemein 05-20-01 11:55 PM

I think Wolf will win the gauntlet, but Whitlow may be the overall winner when it comes to the vote. Most people knew Wolf was manipulating people during the votes whereas I'm not sure everyone caught on to what Whitlow was doing.

big whoppa 05-21-01 12:02 AM

Another case of a snake and a rat. Sound familiar. ;)

Anyone change their mind about boot camp after watching this show?

Patman 05-21-01 05:34 AM

The way they handicapped the gauntlet events (like Coddington's course) irritates me to no end.

I don't know... I think it's an interesting approach. Although I think it would be better if they found some way to weight the results a bit to show Wolf did better initially on both. From the commercials though I don't think Witlow is going to improve her time on the course the 2nd time around. Unless that shot of her giving up on the rope climb is from something else. Remember she's pretty much spent while Wolf is still going strong.

Patman 05-21-01 10:22 AM

Well, it's a sneaky way of doing it. If you knew going in that your initial time (from the start of boot camp) could help or hinder your chance during the final two gauntlet, the contestants could adjust their level of exertion in the events.

briank 05-23-01 08:59 PM

THAT WAS DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm truely sickened by that final show!
You would think the rejected recruits could have atleast known the TRUTH before voting. damn.

Chad 05-23-01 09:42 PM

Spoiler:
What the hell happened??? Wolf works his @ss off and wins all seven events, even though they try and screw him out of some. Of course they give one to Whitlow that she did not even come close to winning-not to mention it took her 50 trys to get up that stupid wall. One minor little incident with the missing equipment ends up costing him the game, which wasn't entirely his fault in the first place. Just like every stupid reality show it's determined by the voting-The whole time was about physical endurance but it all comes down to to a f*cking popularity contest! Apparently winning doesn't mean crap on this Survivor rip off!

I guess it all depends upon how you feel about the "beat your own time thing" but Whitlow did beat her time by the most on the 1.5 mile run so I think that's legit. WRT the final outcome and incident that brought it about...

Spoiler:
looking back at the tape earlier in the show Wolf was partially responsible since he was given the equipment and he left it. However, I don't think it should have cost him the game and I do think had all the information been given to the recruits at least some of them would have voted another way. I wonder if Whitlow ever confronted Wolf after the truth was made known?

SmackDaddy 05-23-01 10:02 PM

I don't know why so many people get so bent out of shape over the way these shows decide the winner.

Both recruits rubbed people the wrong way. It was the way they did it that made a difference.

It's not only the physical part that's important, but the mental part(any muscle bound bonehead can win a physical challenge if he/she is the strongest. What separates the thestrong from the weak is the mental aspect.

While both recruits schemed,
Spoiler:
Whitlow
did it behind the scenes while
Spoiler:
Wolf
was much more confrontational, accusing people to their face in front of others and making a spectacle out of it, people remeber these things, people don't care to be emabarrased especially in front of others.

And I don't think it would be fair to let the other recruits know what went on after they were dismissed. Otherwise it would be an all aout lovefest not to offend anybody.

That's fair enough but I think the recruits who were left in the game at the time of the incident should have been given the accurate information as to what exactly happened once it was discovered. Unless of course it wasn't found until they were editing the tapes afterwords, then nobody knew...

immortal_zeus 05-24-01 12:07 AM
