Anyone else hear anything about this? I didn't hear much beyond that NBC picked up the pilot for a new sitcom starring Emeril Lagasse (he's a chef from the Food Network for those who don't know. For others who might kinda know but don't know him by name... he's the guy that uses lots of garlic and always yells, "BAM!").
So anyone know anything else about this? Like what the premise is? Is he going to be a chef? A member of the mob? Inquiring minds want to know!

Emeril: The superstar chef teams up with Designing Women executive producers Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and Harry Thomason for a sitcom taking a backstage look at Lagasse's cooking show and his life.

I'm a fan of Emeril's, but i dunno if this NBC thing is gonna fly. But i'll probably watch it anyways..... what I want to see is Emeril vs an Iron Chef. Or some kind of US version of Iron Chef.

I used to like him, but now he's annoying. I'm all bammed out.
Of course Wolfgang Puck is worse. Wolfgang Puke, more like.
Mario Eats Italy would be much more entertaining without that annoying sidekick, and the lame attempt at comedy.

I can't stand Mario, he's so "all-knowing" and condescending and the entire show seems so scripted. "Mario, what kind of cheese is this?" And he goes into some ten minute speech on the history of gouda in his all powerful, I am better than you voice. It just irks the hell out of me. At least Emeril doesn't talk down to his audiences and make them feel inferior.
