Personally I loved Bored To Death, but I don't consider it a hit. It lasted three seasons though so it's not like a bomb or anything. And Curb is certainly a classic TV show and had Dansen in almost every episode on the season where they opened a restaurant together. I think that counts as more than a cameo certainly.

Mandy Patinkin (Chicago Hope, Criminal Minds, Homeland) honorable mention to Dead Like Me.
Also, even though these are voice actors, I would say they bring "star" power to many of the shows they have done. Tara Strong (Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, My Little Ponnies, Teen Titans, Drawn Together, The Fairly Oddparents) H. Jon Benjamin (Dr. Katz, Archer, Bob's Burgers), honorable mention to Home Movies and Science Court. |

andy griffith happy days arrested development spans 5 decades,, pretty solid mary tyler moore has two massive hits in her own show and dick van dyke and her show spun off like 5 shows.. but 2 hits only.. betty white is a strong one with mary tyler mooore password match game golden girls and now hot in cleveland, although not a massive hit, shes showing pete rose longevity |

Julia Louis-Dreyfus 4 shows (SNL, Seinfeld, Old Christine, and Veep) and 2/4 of them she was great on.
David Duchovny (X-Files, Californication, cough Red Shoe Diaries, Twin Peaks) 3/4 ain't bad. Bob Odenkirk (Conan, SNL, Mr. Show, Breaking Bad) 4/4 on the great meter. |
