Ok, so I just watched this for the first time.
Does anyone else find that host extremely annoying?
Says, does the same thing over and over again worse than regis.
"Goodbye" - said at 20x speed.
I was screaming at the tv for someone to vote her off.
Not watching that again.
The concept is not bad though, she just annoys me too much (never was a gameshow kinda person I guess).

I agree. I like the concept of the game, but the host is a little much. ANd what's up with everybody laughing like crazy whenever she says something like "Who's three bricks short of a load?" They must have a Laugh Now sign for the audience.

How to be a host at ..
The Weakest Link
Learn to say "Lets play The Weakest Link"
If you need inspiration, try watching Regis saying "Lets play who wants to be a millionarie")
Speedtest : How fast can you say "Goodbye" in a highpitched voice?
This is truly essential - master this!!
These are the rest of the phrases you need to know :
- "I cannot complete the question"
- "You are the weakest link"
Learn to read from a monitor
You will be fed lines with cruel oneliners such as "Is there a village missing an idiot" and "Someone is three bricks short of a load" from your monitor".
Everything else will also be here.
You cannot smile!
This is important, cut your hair short and stand in front of the mirror, concentrating on not smiling og laughing. This can be hard as the above lines are designed to get people to laugh. But NOT you,.So dont!
And thats it - you are now a gameshow host, congratulations!

I'd love to see someone go on that show just to verbally rip Anne Richards a new one. I watched it tonight for the first time, and thought she is the most incendiary person on tv, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to gun her down someday, because she is AWFULLY abusive.

If you are part of the audience they say you have to wear black so don't stand out.
How to become an audience member:
If you would like to watch as contestants squirm beneath Anne Robinson's steely gaze, LIVE, call our ticket hotline at:
But before you do, perhaps you should look over the Weakest Link Audience Requirements. Pay Attention.
(The "Weakest Link" audience members must honor and obey all of the following rules.)
1. Audience clapping will not be allowed.
(Excessive encouragement is frowned upon.)
2. Reactions will remain muted and sedate.
(No jumping up and down allowed.)
3. Audience members should wear dark clothing.
(You are not the star, fade into the background please.)
4. Friends and family members of contestants are not allowed in the audience.
5. Sit up straight.
(There's no slouching on the "Weakest Link.")
6. Don't yell out answers or comment on the play of the game.
(Only those brave enough to appear as contestants on the show have the right to vote.)

That said, The Weakest Link is very cool. I like the fast pace of the game. Also, for those saying that Anne is abusive, it is all an act! This is how the show is in the UK as well. If you notice at the end of the show, Anne gives a big wink to the camera to signal, "Hey, don't take this TOO seriously."

On a recent UK episode this young guy (early twenties) was asked "and what is your ambition" to which he swiftly replied "I'd like to be your toyboy, Anne"....
.... perhaps you has to be there!

I kind of liked it just because the host WAS so annoying, heh. I saw the commercials and was horrified at how bad it looked but gave it a chance and actually enjoyed it. She's pretty mean to the contestants which is fun.
But it can't have been too good because I only saw it that once and haven't bothered to try and find it again. Not like Survivor which I must see every week or I'll go berserk. Boot Camp though... I couldn't stand how bad that was, maybe I caught a bad night.

I'll take Millionaire over Link anyday.... With Millionaire, I can laugh at Regis with my friends, but with Link, it seems as if I'm laughing at Americans with a Brit. You know I can't do that.....

I LOVE the show. I wish it was on more than just once a week. It is way better than Millionaire because Ann is just nasty to the people on there. Very fun to watch!

Not as bad as Bootcamp...
I caught an episode of the show last week sometime and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, not by the host but by the show. You try answering (WT2BAMillionaire) questions with no multiple choice or lifelines.

The show is heavily scripted though, and I think when they move away from that (can you say Writer's Guild Strike?) and let Anne Robinson improv a little more it could be more entertaining to watch. oh well

The show is going down... Read that Regis showed a picture of the host on his own show and said "Goodbye" in the best accent of her's he could. The ratings are going down extremly fast and with reason, I watched about 20 minutes of the first show, liked it, but now I and can't stand it already, seems thats a common trend with most people.

Interesting points about the weakest link show. To those who found it annoying, well, at least you got the point. Many of my friends talk about how crap it is and yet watch it again and again.
During Comic Relief - a charity event - , they put celebrities up as contestants, and it was really funny. Bob Geldof gave Anne Robinson a bit of stick, and when he was voted off, he stuck the V's up behind her back - Told her to F**k Off. Quite funny.
Most British contestants accpet the abuse with a wry smile, while most Americans, it seems, reach for the revolver and fire back, usually to their detriment.
Ah well, it's a laugh, ain't it. I still can't believe how many people take it seriously.
