I got turned on to this show because of Amy Brenneman. I knew her as a film actress and thought she has a wonderful presence. I find the show entertaining but not nearly as involving as it should be. I don't really care much about the characters. But Brenneman plays the role so well that she is fun to watch.
Now, Family Law, is a fantastic program ( I think I'll start a thread) that is often overlooked.

Co-Producer??? When did that happen? What announcement did I miss? What new Judging Amy swag do you now have access too?
Congrats, Paul!
(hopefully not too belated, I don't always notice the credits)
I thought you only had BAD news re: your employment...
Sorry to hear about "The Jump".
I blame them for not using our suggestions.

Sorry for any Forum confusion.
I wasn't aware that our boatdrinks was getting co-producer credits on Judging Amy. I thought he only had writer credit. Here is a pic from this past Tuesday's episode:

Per this thread, in November, he was working on a pilot he wanted to get picked up by Fox. Maybe the Amy gig was ending or something, and he needed something new. He asked DVDTalk help in naming the show. However, despite some wonderful suggestions, the "powers that be" picked the name "The Jump" for that pilot:

Fox liked the pilot enough to take a hard look at it, and it was between that show and another to start shooting in January. boat asked for good vibes be sent his way that Fox would pick it up, in this thread:

But it appears that Fox did NOT pick it up... I blame Bush.
This was the first time I had noticed producer-type credit for boat, and thought it maybe was a promotion or something. Though I probably just hadn't seen it before. So I decided to bump this years old Judging Amy thread that boat might recognize, and show that people are still watching.
Boat also doesn't link to his email here, so I couldn't use that to contact him. But he still posts (mostly in book talk), as recently as yesterday.
Make more sense?

My wife watches it religously. She loves it, and says keep up the good work.
I enjoy it, even though I'm more of a drive-by watcher. I pointed out all of the otter references last season, and she thought that was pretty cool.
Oh, congrats
Problems that she has with the show--"The Amy's brother having that mid-life crisis (what's that all about). The mom and the gardener boyfriend thing (where is the heat?) I'm convinced he'll (cheech) end up gay and her best friend."
Oh, congrats

A friend of mine watches it and really enjoys it. I saw one episode with her and found it to be very well made. Normally I can take a look at any similar type show and pick out flaws in the writing or whatever and just laugh at the whole thing (if my words actually hold water or anything is of course, of opinion), but with this I couldn't... even if it's not my type of show... because it was very well made.
I would like to be a writer in TV one day, but it's really just a pipe dream. I don't think I'll ever make it
