On some accounts yes on others no. I mean a lot of the same sorts of situations happened, but certainly not in that short of a span.

I wouldn't like it as well if it was as boring as my high school though

i would say if any school was like the stuff we see on boston public, there'd be some real problems. i'm sure some high school experience varying degrees of the stuff that's going on, but not to that extreme.

Since the show takes the viewpoint of the faculty more than the students, it's kinda hard to say. Obviously, it couldn't have been that intense; I'd imagine the events that transpire within an hour of that show would take several months to happen in a "real" school, if not a longer period.

I probably witnessed or heard of 1-3 fights a week, but I don't recall any student/faculty sex scandals. There were a couple student deaths or murders each year, though. In fact, I went to weight training class one Monday to find that two students wouldn't be returning. One was dead and the other was imprisoned for shooting him!

Also, a higher percentage of the faculty physically resembled Lipshultz, Guber, and Hendricks. But that's TV for you, understandably.

Went to an all-boys private school, so no. However, we did have teachers who were similar to Guber.

Private school here too, not co-ed (thank God!). But I spent 9th grade in chicago public school, and it wasn't totally like boston public. I mean there were fights almost everyday, but they happened off school property (by that I mean, 2 feet from the front door) and the teachers couldn't do anything about it since it wasn't there jurisdiction. But other than that, no sex scandals or cheerleader stripping (damn i wish they had that though).

I don't think we had many controversies in my high school. And it was a 2300 student public school! Well, actually, we had some women from Texas come over and try to sell cocaine across the street from the school.

Every high school in my city has 2 police officers in there, so maybe that cut down on stuff?

Nobody ever saw the principal except graduation.

I also think that the Boston Public school looks really nice!

Hardly, I graduated in 1971. The most exciting thing
that happened then was when some guys put a pig in the
library (all weekend, took them two weeks to clean and
fumigate it). If even one of the many events that seem
to take place daily there had happened in three years
we'd still be talking about it. A couple of years after
I graduated our basketball coach married and divorced
one of our cheerleaders but that was done in secret.

My old school WAS Boston Public.

Well sort off. The interior auditorium shots are from my old junior high in Southern California.
