Extracting Mozilla (old version) passwords to .txt

We're finally getting a new computer. Yay! What we currently have is a PC with Vista 64 (yes, you may now snort loudly and slap your knees:)). Obviously, this OS hasn't been updated in almost 5 years, and, as a consequence, I have been unable to upgrade to new browser versions.
I'm using Firefox v. 52.9.0 (32-bit), and have been scraping by more than adequately therewith for years. Only in the last year has it become more of a challenge, for now some scattered websites are inaccessible with such an old browser. I also sometimes use Opera, Chrome, and Avast, but they likewise can't been updated.

At any rate, I'd like to extract the Firefox passwords to a .txt file. The directions I have found by googling don't seem to apply to this version of Firefox. Anyone have a clue as to how to accomplish this without writing them down by hand?

Read that valuable info. Most likely you would have to dig deep into %appdata% > Firefox Profile and pull some files (password files key4.db and logins.json files) and transfer them to the new FF version.

Thanks, Sonic. I tried all four methods. I have the logins.json file, but not the key4.db file (only key3.db). I tried PasswordFox and FF Password, but neither worked on this dinosaur. I'll have to write down the important ones manually, and leave the rest for when they are needed, at which time I'll go the old "Forgot Password" route. This is what happens when one waits too long to update one's OS.-screwy-

I got an idea. I wonder if this might work, installing Brave on your dinosaur computer then have Brave import the FF passwords, then export them from Brave. You could try that.

Apparently there was an old Firefox add-on called Password Exporter which would do the trick and produce all your passwords in a CSV file, but I can't find any working downloads of it with a cursory Bing search. All point to Firefox's dead add-on page. Any place which still preserves obsolete add-ons for posterity?

Just pull the whole profile. When I get a new computer I just copy the profile directories. All my passwords, preferences, bookmarks, etc carry over. You may have to fiddle with profile manager (Run firefoxexe -p) but itís quicker than setting up fresh.

That sounds like a plan. So I just copied the gibberishly named folder onto the desktop. I'll probably move it to an external HD. Then I can just cut and paste it into the the new computer's drive at %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

Thanks to Sonic and PhantomStranger for your suggestions. Password Exporter was rejected because it was not verified.
