Malwarebytes quarantined approx. 100 Trojan Ransoms at 3:25am

A little while ago a notice popped up from Malwarebytes indicating it had blocked and quarantined a trojan ransom attack. I thought that was a bit odd because all I had open was my gmail.
So I check the MWB quarantine section and see what had to be appox. 100 blocked Trojan ransoms at 3:25am this morning. Well I was sleeping at that time and obviously not online however an automatic Windows Update apparently ran at some point in the middle of the night but not sure how those two could be connected.
I'm running Windows 7
Any ideas?

A trojan(s) have been on your machine, your malwarebytes data file was updated and it found them.

Without looking at log files or having other software scans running you will not likely find out much more. I doubt a Windows update did anything unless you were somehow hijacked to a malicious site.

Ok thanks.
When I ran the scan it found 53 of these.
Funny I run ESET in conjunction with Malwarebytes protection and I would figure one of them would have jumped up with live warning at some point yesterday.

I got a Win7 update last night, too. It's probably just a coincidence.

I did run Malwarebytes last week, and it did find one file. It was an old program installer that I've had on my HD for about two years. What seemed to trigger the detection was that it contained an option for an Ask toolbar.

I'll update MWB and run a quick scan right now and see if it finds anything.
