Easiest Group Chat?

Ok - stupid question. Whats the easiest, fastest, and free-est Group Chat out there?

It seems dumb, but 10 guys have to get together online at once for something fantasy sports related...normally we do this in person, but some last minute things have prevented us from getting together, so we need to do it online.

I said Facebook, and set up a private group, but some dont have Facebook and are anti-Facebook, but thats out.

Basically, what I want is to be able to set it up, send out an email link, with maybe a password, and at the certain time, we can all login and have a small private chat for about an hour. Nothing complicated, and hopefully where nobody has to register for the site, other than me.

Any ideas? (Basically im looking for something that existed on AOL in 1996....)

There is Google Talk but you need to have a Google account.

Or use IRC with mIRC or another IRC client like ChatZilla Firefox Add-on.

Re: Easiest Group Chat?

Thanks, but im looking for a zero-fuss way to do it. No downloading, no registering, which eliminates Google or mIRC.

Someone recommended TinyChat....

Web based IRC, just give them the channel name.

If you want you can register and admin the channel to gain more control over any assholes. You may need to use a real irc client for that.

PS. with a real client you can also record a log.

Sounds like it would be easier to just make the stubborn folks download what they need to then to keep wasting your time finding stuff that everyone would agree to

It may look silly to some but it only takes a minute or 2 to create a chat group. You just give it a name and fill in a few additional lines of info and then register it. From there you get your own chat box. You can make the group private if needed. You can even customize the chat page if you feel ambitious.

The other people don't have to register if they don't want to so it's pretty easy for anyone to jump in after it's set up.
