I live in the DC area and you would think I could get some quality DSL service but for some reason, I can't. I live right across the street from this historical house and apparently there are some zoning rules about installing new lines or something. We had DSL for awhile, but then our service provider went out and ended up suing verizon from whom they borrowed the lines (another long story) and I placed an order with the only other provider I could find that said they could service our house but that was over a month ago and nothing has happened... Needless to say, it is getting old. Anyway, I was at the ole Best Buy today (another long story) and I saw they had the new satellite modem systems from directv - I think they called it direcduo or something. Does anyone use this service? Is it reliable? I think the speek was 400kbs which was about what we were able to get when DSL was working anyway. The set ran for $200 and the monthly service was $40-50.
