Need help: Toslink cable into PC audio

Just bought the Septre X460BV-F120 46" LCD TV. It only has Coaxial Audio out and Optical Audio out. Video will also be hooked up to my PC as well as cable/DVD/Wii. I have a great sounding 2.1 PC speaker system that I want to use bc all built-in TV speakers suck. I'm not looking for 5.1 surround sound. Is there a way to convert the optical audio signal from a Toslink cable to a regular 3.5mm male plug so I can plug it into my PC sound card "line in" jack? I've seen 3.5mm converters that you just plug Toslink cable into but I think it just makes the Toslink cable into a 3.5mm male plug with optical signal still coming out of a hole in the end (i.e. mini optical).

If this will still work then great! If not, please help.

Thanks in advance.
