tweakui i believe will do this. just open it from the control panel. select desktop then right click on network neighborhood and unselect show on desktop.
i believe this will work

beware. Hideing network neighbor hood could cause connectivity problems. it depends on why it's there i guess... You can also use the policy editor to hide it. (tweak is easier though)
