Good Video File Manager?

I use MediaMonkey for audio files, and it's fantastic. Video? Not so much.

I gave iTunes a look just to see what it could handle. Big mistake. I've been removing all the crap it installed for an hour now (with mandatory reboots ).

I'm looking for something simple that will allow me to categorize my video files (regardless of codec) with some custom criteria and launch them in an external video player. I'd like to be able to tag a file with "TV Show", "Horror", and "Baby Bob" and then filter all my videos by one of those tags. Simple. Any software for that?

Will the winamp media library functions cover any of what you need?

Interesting suggestion. That never even occurred to me. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any way to load the files in an external viewer, and since winamp's video player is relatively useless, it doesn't appear to be a good solution. Thanks for the idea, though.
