Can all 16X speed DVD burn at speed of 8X? I used to burn it with Memorex DVD and the maximum speed my DVD burner support is 8X and the 16X Memorex DVD burns at 8X, now I tried Office Depot Brand 16X DVD and the available speed is 2X and 4X, help.

Download this free utility: DVDIdentifier; it will let you know the recordable speeds of any media and should help you with all kinds of disc questions.

As you can see both disc can be written in 8X, just why Office Depot Disc can't be burned at 8X? Do I need a firmware update of my burner? It is matshita dvd-ram uj-850s, what is the latest driver?

This is one good piece of info, he's able to burn it 8X with a DVD burner, so the disc is able to write at 8X, I wonder if I can do some hack with the driver of the burner?
