Apple I-Pod problem: won't play video

Just got it about three weeks ago. It plays music fine, but the TV eps. I downloaded don't want to play in the video screen, it just shows the title card and then goes black without playing anything. Weird as they have played fine recently.

I synced my pod last night, and have had stuff erased before, but it is unusual to still have the material listed as being on there and not playing it. Was wondering if maybe it has something to do with settings or memory or something like that, even though my Ipod allegedly still has quite a bit of memory left. Sorry if this post is in the wrong place, please leave a link if it is moved! Thanks!

Where are you getting these videos? And what do you mean by "title card"?

1) Off of Itunes

2)By title card I just mean it displays a little photo of the cast of the show "The Closer" when I select to watch the ep.

Are you trying to play the shows specifically from the Videos submenu?

Did you try rebooting it?

Actually, new development. Turns out for some reason it can't play ANYTHING that I purchased off of Itunes, including songs. Songs that I burned onto Itunes from CD still play, but nothing else. According to the "about" page, the videos and other songs are still on there, but they aren't playing. I charged my Ipod the other night and recall messing around with the Sync page, but not recalling what I checked or unchecked. I am guessing this has something to do with it.
If I accidentally put a lock on things from my PC (happened before, new to this Ipod stuff), is there anyway to undo it on the IPod itself or do I need to be back at the computer and just re-sync the whole deal?

iPods have feelings... and yours doesn't like you.

# 1 problem is the TV thing. You need to turn TV Out to Off. The title card is what you see when you have the TV Out selected (Meaning the iPod thinks you are wanting to send the signal out to the TV via the output jack)
To fix, look on the iPod under Video>Video Settings>TV Out>Off

# 2 Not sure of the issue here...Are the songs listed on the iPod and just not playing, or are they not on the iPod at all?

Are you "logged in" to iTunes? When you double-click a track or video you purchased in iTunes (on your computer), does it play?

What's going on in a nutshell: nothing on my Ipod purchased from Itunes is playing. The little album artwork is present, but once I try to play it ,it cuts away back to a menu. Music I burned to Itunes from CD is still present. I might have to go and re-sync the whole thing over is my guess. I just don't know why it still has the music listed but doesn't want to play it.

I do not currently have access to my PC. I am away from home on vacation and using a different computer to post.

Hmm...sounds like something just got borked.

I agree with Chrisedge about the TV-Out setting - that was going to be my suggestion. For the other problem, it might need a "restore" or at least clearing everything off and dropping it back on again when you get to your computer.

If that doesn't work, see if you can exchange it. Might be a hardware issue.

Also, I always check discussions.apple.com before I go anywhere else. You'll have the best chance of finding someone with the same problem over there.

Checked there, someone is having the same problem as I, and they really don't know what's going on at this point.

When you get back to your computer, you need to "authorize" your ipod with your itunes store username/password. Then it'll play on your ipod.
