Need help with a wireless network problem.

I set up a wireless network using a D-Link DI-624 router on my desktop and a wireless adapter on my laptop.

The router and my DSL modem are hooked up directly to my desktop using an ethernet cable.

The laptop is the only device connected wireless, and I'm using a USB adapter for that.

I'm using Network Magic (software that came bundled with the router) to monitor the connection.

However, it seems like almost every 2-3 hours the connection is being dropped at the desktop. I run Network Magic and it tells me to "power cycle" the router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in. While this isn't a huge deal, it's more than a little annoying. Is there something I can do to make sure this doesn't keep happening so frequently?

If it matters, I'm using WinXP Home. My ISP is SBC Yahoo DSL.

Also, I'm a real novice when it comes to this stuff and I'm not too familiar with all the tech lingo in this area. So, if you're willing to help me out, please explain what I need to do in as simple terms as possible.

Thanks in advance!!!

See if there is any updated firmware. D-Link is usually very good at releasing fixes.

I had something similar with a DI-524 and updating the firmware fixed the issue for me.

Good Luck.
