Adding RAM to a laptop, type question..

I have an HP L2000 laptop, 512 MB RAM, with 128 shared. I am thinking about adding more.

I have found on a couple places that is has DDR SDRAM. When I go to newegg.com all I see for note books are other types, but in the regular PC area I see DDR SDRAM. Does this mean my laptop uses regular PC RAM, or is there some sort of notebook DDR SDRAM that I don't see on their site.

Is there some way to know exactly what ram I am using, or where to find out so I can order the right stuff.

I bought memory for my laptop directly from Crucial's website. They have a tool that finds the exact type you need: http://www.crucial.com/index.asp

You'll need SODIMM memory I think. I'd call HP and be sure what kind to get--or maybe visit their website. I've made mistakes before and it's much easier to just make the call to get a head start on the wise purchasing process.

Second the recommendation on crucial.com or memoryx.com - make a note of the exact type and then then go buy at newegg.com or mwave.com if you want to save a buck or two
