Changing Default Internet Browser in XP

I recently transferred my old hard drive from my 6 year old Windows 98 computer to my new Windows XP machine as a slave. I was going through old data and accidently set Netscape 7.0 as my default internet browser.
Now whenever I have software that needs internet access, it will open Netscape 7.0. Where are the default internet settings located in Windows XP and how can I change or delete them?

That's a function of the browser itself. You can usually go into the browser option settings to set it (examples):

Internet Explorer: Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Default browser checkbox at bottom

Firefox: Tools>Options>Default browser checkbox

The next time you manually open the new browser it will ask if you want to set it as default.

try opening Internet Explorer and go to Tools>internet options>Programs>and place a check in the box for IE to check to see if it is the default browser. Click OK.
