Explorer won't load.. need help.

Purchased a new HD, seagate 200GB, ran the seagate disk wizard program which copied the old hd to the new hd. all looked good. took out old one.

Made the new one the master, and started logged into windows, and I just get the wallpaper.

Task manager - File Run - explorer.exe and it flashes up and dissapears.
Nothing in the eventvwr.

Browsing in explorer does not show individual files, well except executable files.

dos prompt allows me to do a dir and show files.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't rely on a disk copying program from a disk manufacturer. I've seen too many cases where they don't work correctly.

You should ghost it.

If you want to loan me your copy of 2003, I can be across the bridge in 15.

You're in IT and don't have Ghost?

I have at least one copy I haven't used. You get 2003 with 9 and I didn't like 9.

I can send it to you if you want.

ghost worked well but oddly enough had the same issue when I booted up first, i then killed the explorer.exe process and everything returned to normal, this new HD is so much quieter than the other piece of junk!
Seagate 200 way quieter than the WD40 GB one. peace at last.
