Video Camera for Dummies?

Hi. My grandparents are looking to get a video camera. They're asking me for some advice, but I've never owned one.

Can anyone recommend a good inexpensive video camera designed for technologically inept people? I guess I'm looking for a digital camcorder. Hopefully something that's just simple point and shoot with easy transfer to the PC. I'd also be open to recommendations for analog camcorders.

Thanks for the help.

Dave

I believe that the HDD based cameras are the easiest to transfer to computer. Straight to DVD cameras are also easy and would not require a PC at all. I prefer MiniDV for quality and ability to edit but that is certainly not the easiest format to work with.

Right now I'm looking at the Sony DCR-HC32:

I like the Handycam Station. It looks similar to Kodak's Easyshare dock. It also has the Easy Handycam Button which disables all the advanced features.

Anyone have one of these Sony Handycams? How easy are they to use?

Thanks.
