My Computer Thinks I Have A Dual Processor

For some reason, my computer thinks I have dual processors. I am only running an Intel P4 2.8GHz Northwood chip, how can I remedy this error? Thanks in advance for all that help!

With HyperThreading on? It's supposed to look like two processors then.

If you have Hyperthreading enabled it fools the OS into thinking there are dual processors. (Win XP/2000) So there most likely isn't any problem to be remedied.

Edit: Sorry for the repeated answer, Danw got his in while I was typing mine.

Thanks danw and Nifty03 for clarifying this for me. I guess I really had no idea what HT really did and now I somewhat do. So tell me, what advantages are there to "tricking" the OS into thinking I have dual processors?

In theory it would help in multitasking where it would run one program on one processor and another program on the other processor, but there isnít a lot of software out there yet that takes advantage of it. I donít know if it hurts performance to have it active (I wouldnít think so).
