"Unsafe" ActiveX control

I have an ActiveX control that I need to get working on a locked down worsktation that has IE ActiveX security set not to run unsafe ActiveX controls (got all that?). Since I am not allowed to lower the security setting to allow the control to run, I need to somehow change the control to be safe so that the browser won't complain about it. It is not my ActiveX control (so I don't have the source code to recompile it or anything) - all I have is the DLL. Is there a way to do this?

Not that I know of.

I'm not sure, but "unsafe" may be denoted by not being signed. I don't know how you would sign it without the source code.

What's the extension of the control?

IE actually goes out of it's way to call it "unsafe", I don't think it cares if it's signed. Best I could figure it looks like the program is calling c:\winnt\system32\mshtmled.dll .. Perhaps Microsoft has determined that it's not safe for a normal user to run this on the high security setting. I may be out of luck getting this to work.
