Help! DVD player not working on a Gateway 2550 notebook.

I have an older Gateway Solo 2550 notebook which I upgraded to WinXP. Everything works fine except the DVD Player. Whenever I try to play a DVD, I get a message saying that I need a DVD Decoder. Any ideas?

Thanks.

You need to buy and install DVD player software. Because of copyright reasons, Microsoft does not include DVD software with Windows.

Pretty much, the most popular software packages out there are PowerDVD and WinDVD.
