ok I have two computers on a workgroup and I want to beable to mount the drive of one computer on the other which I can do but I want to beable to add users and passwords to only allow some people to access my hard drives. I have looked every where I can in the menus and windows help and nothing is there apps or something I'm missing.

First step: Turn off simple file sharing. It's an option in your windows explorer settings.

Second step: Access the sharing panel for the directory that you want to share. You'll now see a "Permissions" button that takes you to a whole new set of dialogs. They're not incredibly self-explanatory, but some experimentation should reveal how they work.

Just remember that if you share, say, C:\ (your entire C drive) on a network, even restricting access and password-protecting it aren't sufficient, because someone can still run a brute-force attack on the share to find out the password. Instead, share the folder as a non-obvious name, and put a $ at the end of the name, which means that it won't show up in your computer's shared folders screen. Something like DriveC$ would work fine.
