IIS Problem/Question

OK, I reloaded IIS recently and was trying to play with some ASP.NET, but when I try to look at the pages through localhost none of the Web Form objects show up. When I look at the source from IE the forms are still there (like {asp:textbox}). So it looks like IIS isn't doing anything, but when I check it it says it is running. So what is going on?

Also, I just checked and Classic ASP pages work fine. This is weird because .NET ASP used to work as well. Help!

OK, I reinstalled IIS, Visual Studio, and the .NET Framework. Now I am getting this error:

It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS.

But I have the folder set up as an application, so why is it giving this error message?
